They don’t have to provide any facilities, it’s up to you to make your own arrangements.
Really, so they can park you up for 24hrs with no food, drink or toilets
I’m really shocked

Yep why what do you want 5* hotel at their expense … There be only a few reasons they park you up and they be all down to the driver doing something or not doing something quite right
So, where have they parked you up and what have you done wrong

Not me a friend
Not done anything wrong, just can’t prove something
They were asrsy from the start, any little thing
Don’t wanna say too much on here
But did think they need to park you near or in services
And no not a 5* hotel. Not even asking for them to pay
But surely if parking 24hrs or more you need to be able to get food drink and go toilet

He’s parked up in the UK not the surface of the moon! If he’s a day man with no night out gear he can always call a taxi.
vosa====on her majestys service agents of the crown====== above the law and answerable top nobody unless you have unlimited funds to take them to the high court where you will 1, lose…or 2, if theres a chance of you winning and providing a test case for everyone else to relate to,then even though they will stall and stall and stall till you run out of money, then at a certain point, they will drop your case so as not to give anyone else an easy option, followed by you having to go to the furniture shop to get a extra big kitchen table,so that theres room for all the tax, vat, and everyone and anyone that the crown can find to crawl up your backside till you die…you, and me,–uk born truckie…pondife, slimebag with no rights, human or otherwise…24 hrs parked up means parked up for 24 hours, not 23 hours 59 mins or thatl be another offence entirely…golden phase is ,not our problem driver, you have commited an offence and we are doing our duty by parking you up.if you hadn’t broken the law, then you wouldnt be parked up,so its your own fault, starve if you will, its no concern of ours unless you move before your times up…end of.i wouldn’t be giving them the satisfaction of talking to me though, just park and ignore.
I only asked if they had to park you near facilities
You are making it out like the driver has killed someone
A toilet food and drink is not too much to ask
The 24hrs were up and still they won’t let him go
The trailer has the issue now not the driver. But just making excuses not to let him go
So please don’t tell me it’s all the driver
I asked a simple question, doesn’t matter what he’s done or what the issue is just
Your right to food drink and toilets
Right of access is not the same as someone else being obliged to provide.
I would think that if you asked to use a toilet they would let you use one,
I was held at VOSA Leaterhead pull in a few years ago due to probs with bosses O Licence, The VOSA guys there where excellent, very polite, helpfull, offer of a brew.
Treat people how you would like to be treated, VOSA guys are normal people doing a job trying to earn a crust like the rest of us,
Just my opinion and tin hat at the ready

If that’s the case he can drop the trailer other than that there are other issues not explained
If it’s an issue with the vehicle then he hasn’t been parked for 24 hours. He would be parked for a number of hours for driver’s hours offences involving daily or weekly rest but a problem with the vehicle would be a prohibition on moving it until the problem was sorted or a delayed prohibition allowing him to get it back to base.
In any of those circumstances the driver is not being held prisoner and is free to call a taxi into town to a railway station or to home. He could walk into town or get on a bike or do whatever he wants. If they have made him take a rest period then he is free to dispose of his time as he wishes so he can always go and get refreshments, book into a hotel or get a train home. As has been said he’s not being held in a wilderness with no facilities for thousands of miles.
The trailer and cab were both locked together
They would not unlock the cab
It was £25 for a cab to hotel, so over the 2 days that they kept him £100… Really who has that sort of money to waste
As I’ve said it don’t matter what the driver or lorry issues are, I only wanted to know if they have to park you with facilities
Thanks for all your replies
See no tin Hats needed lol
