Volvo F16 Pictures!

wheeltapper:
This early F16 was sold by Thomas Hardies Commercials, Volvo at Preston to Brian Cookson Ltd, I worked at THC at the time and did the PDI on the motor.
The vehicle ran a lot to Ireland and was never much problem.

2

2 digits out from the Pritchards one!!! Wonder who had the one in between?!

i did post this on page 1, but theyve dissapeared so i will try again,
this was taken when new, i had it working for someone else when it was 5 yrs old with an added on tag axle (different company to this pic) no limiter, European work for Frans Maas, whoo hoo!!

another 16
saw this sitting on its own in Felixstowe near the boat around a yr ago-ish and looking immaculate

i got a couple more pics that are on Imagecave, but havent been able to get on there for a few weeks

It was a proper working truck and the best i ever drove

kindle530:

i drove this for 6 months (until i got my brand new FH) it wasnt as tidy as this when i drove it thou, it had been converted to a tag axle and needed re-painting. My first trip with it was to Athens with 3 groupage deliveries for Frans Maas.

joe measures had this new on fairweathers matthews had one also was drive by ray waterson

i was told that Fairweathers packed up, and the driver who drove it for them bought it, added the tag axle, then carried on doing the same job he was with Fairweather. He must’ve finished in a hurry thou, as when my boss got it, it still had maps (including lots of Italian ones) gas cooking stove, span sets etc in it. Im not saying its true(apart from the gear in the motor), just what i was told.

Ross, how are you getting on with your 16? havent seen any pics since you got her home (hint hint!)

Mmmm, not too much done I’m affraid!! Got a ‘Vstay’ & fitted some rear wings but work has stalled a little as I’m having some issues with the VCA over registration as it was last registered in Slovenia, Volvo UK have confirmed thay have the build date, spec & the fact that it was delivered new to a dealer in West Germany!! However, I havn’t given up & fitted some new batteries last week & now the good weather is on it’s way

I’m looking to get it up to test condition (drag link end & new exhaust & tacho head change) & ready for chassis blast & paint, by then if I don’t have the VCA ‘on side’ I’ll be putting her in for the cab to be painted before the end of Summer.

Here’s the first picture I ever saw of her, the one that made me NEED to rush over to Germany & part with ‘the hard earned’!!!

This is just after I got her home & gave her a ‘shower’. (I think this is already on here somewhere)

Ross.

mm &lm finnie sold it about 10 years ago, it was green n white when they had it, it’s now black with a mural on it and in a sorry state

Im sure it was Suedehead as it was bought from a finance company who had recently got it back from the owners who were running it
