from a time I quite liked going to work
I went to look at the Edwin Shirley trailer small tree growing through it im not afraid of buying rough stuff but not this regards rowly
Been up since half 2 this morn’, so it’s probably my eyes, but is this a short-cab Globetrotter? Regards Chris
Good custom theme for a Fridge/Produce Haulier

Looks like some Photoshop nonsense has been going on, the trailer is far too close and the rear section of the front mudguard is wrong too.

Could it be a Special made by Volvo for a Scandinavian haulier, I don’t know the firm but if they are a big Volvo user…? Could the coupling be a slider that you can move for/aft hydraulically from the cab for straight line running, on the icy roads up there would that give the outfit more stability? I am no engineering expert or anything, just wondering! Regards Chris
You can get a sliding kingpin to close the gap, but I’ve only recently heard about those, don’t know if they were around in those days and I don’t think it wouldn’t make much difference on ice as it still bends in the middle.

It does look odd. The wheelbase is short, there’s no pressings or side locker but he has room for stacks. Very strange

No I mean sliding kingpin, like I said
Hi all,
For what little I know,I think that’s a genuine picture.when we used to paint f10 day cabs they did have unusual looking lower cab wings.like your day cab 290 lance.not saying newmercman is wrong, you are actually right,I.t gurus can create all sorts with Photoshop now.
Regards andrew.
There was a firm from Nl name escapes me but dark and light blue swop body drawbars doing Italy, had cut down FH Globetrotter cabs, proper job done by Esteppe, apparently so as to just squeeze in the 18m limit. Seems an extreme to go to but maybe the Swiss were onto them as they were later onto Croomes ‘super cars’ for being a tad over. Happy days!
I think it’s just the air deflector making it look short, but as has been said that trailer looks very tight. The trailer doesn’t look much longer then the standard 12 mts of the time so I can’t see why they would have such a financial investment just to get a few hundred mm out of it… The tape measure police in DK must have been hard…
