Vodafone coverage or O2 better?

I’m renewing my phone contract this week at some point and deals I’ve seen are now between Vodafone or O2.

As this will be for 24mth would like opinions or view on those who are on Vodafone as to coverage.

I’m already on O2 and coverage pretty good but I’d have to pay £170 for phone I want, whereas Vodafone is free albeit new number( cant port) so before press Place Order how good is Vodafone for those already on it?

I’m in West Yorks if that helps !

According to their site they are wonderful but we all know in reality it’s different !

Alot of folk slate vodafone, but I can’t fault them whatsoever. Might not be the cheapest around and they dont offer loads of data like some other networks, but I feel the service I get out weight those negatives.
I’ve recently been put on a new run in work covering Ayrshire, and I get a strong 4G signal in Ayr, Irvine and Kilmarnock on voda, but the works PDA phone is on O2 and I struggle to get any internet in the same places.
In all the years I’ve been with Vodafone, I can honesty say I’ve never experienced any outages that seem to hit the other networks quite often. They seem quite a strong network IMO.
Plus the wife works with Glasgow Council which means I get 20% off my monthly line rental with voda too.
Vodafone 100% for me, but no doubt there will be others who disagree.

Thanks for that. Per month it’s only £2 more than my O2 upgrade, unlimited min/text and 2gb data BUT no upfront cost for the Iphone6 I want. Where’s O2 want £170.

Like I said because it’s 24mth trying not to be stuck with no coverage.

Sounds like Vodafone improved as I was on them years ago and dire but have heard ok now so trying to check [emoji1]

In my experience,12 months ago admittedly,Vodaphone were garbage,I live 500 yds from my local High Street in the heart of the West Midlands, and I struggled to get coverage,so I paid up my contract and switched to 02,who IMO,are far superior.

Vodafone is awful. I only stay with them for their data roaming deal. I’ve a 4G EE WiFi hotspot and I’ve often got 4G on that when I’ve barely got EDGE or even GPRS on Vodafone.

Why not buy the phone outright and have a rolling month SIM only deal?
I know that I could save >£500 over a 24 month period this way compared to being tied to a fixed term contract. The phone will also be unlocked to any network

I thought about this but cheapest I’ve found is £625 sim free. It’s cheaper to contract to get one by a long shot. I don’t have that much up front at moment

I’m on Vodafone purely because of their Eurotraveller deal.

If I stopped going abroad I’d be away from them in an instant and over to 02 or EE.

Their voice call coverage is becoming a joke, calls drop out frequently, but that’s nothing compared to their 3G coverage. My deal includes 3GB a month, and if I spend a few weeks in the UK during a billing month then I can’t get anywhere near the 3GB limit as I can hardly ever get any internet coverage.

You pays your money and takes your chances, if UK only then I’d be looking at paying a bit more with 02 knowing I’d stand a reasonable of actually getting to the end of a phone call without it dropping out.

Go for three mate great UK coverage and some good deals

I dumped Vodafone last December and moved over to Three network.

I have not had any problems with coverage or there 3G and 4G network, there support is overseas, and even they are far better then Vodafone.
I have had no hidden charges either.

Had we for years but got a caravan in south west Scotland couldn’t get any kind of signal so changed to vodaphone and all is good.my other half is on 02 she seems to have no problem either. Dont like us both to have the same cos if out in the wilds and break down more chance of one of us having signal.
Depends on the area your covering I suppose

I’m on 4G Vodafone and travel the 62 everyday and I get a strong 4G signal once past feerybridge going westbound but calls cut out , brig house area etc… But sometimes they don’t so maybe it’s how much traffic is using the network / weather etc ? It annoys me lately with it just cutting out when on the phone but I find the internet is good , once past feerybridge going eastbound I just get E or GPRS , even in Hull I only get 3G in some places !! I got a good deal UTB them that’s why I’m with them lol

I ditched Voda after 9 years. They are still trying to make me pay for Oct and Nov, when the contract ran out in Sept.
Now with Tesco, £69 for the phone and on 12 month contract. 3000 mins, 1000 text and some data for £10 per month

Had lots of problems with Vodafone including outages for up to a week at home and they just couldn’t be bothered. In the end swooped to o2 and had a few issues with number transfer but seems to be better. Whatever you do it us 6 of one and half a dozen of the other.
