Considering some of the responses on this thread, maybe the title of the forum should be changed to the “Unprofessional drivers forum”.
I can’t believe some of the things people are writing (or in some cases trying to write). To the OP you have morals and a conscience. Probably best to walk away from that job, it may take time but that type of firm will usually end up out of business.
Cheers BW.
And to Toby, Topmixer, Conor, Ken and Animal.
Anyway that’s cleared up somewhat and I shall move forward in my intentions of informing of illegal working practises and being overloaded.
everyone loves a grass…i wonder if someone from here will grass you to them?..

To who?
The company hasn’t even been mentioned, and I have been vague too. What happens if they do inform my previous employers? And what? You seem confuse me for a moron who’s got no options and would work bent just to keep my wages coming in.
One mans grass, is another mans sound and reasoned member of the public with a consideration for others.
Who to side with, the lad who wouldn’t break the law OR the guy who gives Diesel to his Dog and believes that a driver with no entitlements on his licence will be OK to drive.
You offer such poor reasoning, such a poor attitude and such poor grammar that I have no value in your opinion.
No licence entitlement could well mean no insurance.
Hmmm.
Assuming the OP is on the level, the rest of the forum that are berating him are showing their usual level of intelligence and professionalism, as ever.
Seems straight forward to me just inform vosa if you got it wrong there will be no problem for the company if your right you may well have saved a life or at least helped to create a better working environment for some decent drivers and those willing to break the law for a few pounds an hour shame on you
How does a driver know what entitlement another driver has? How does he know all the ins and outs of the other drivers? and what they are doing at every working hour?
Ever since I started working in transport there are people who knew more about me than I ever knew, the rest they made up…
newmercman:
CMH, why leave the thread? So a few posters have a different view, that’s bound to happen as this is, after all, a discussion forum.
Because people are making false accusations and questioning my integrity. One is so moronic he advocates a driver with no entitlements taking a 18t out to work for a month. I don’t mind difference of opinions but flippant snidey remarks and accusations of deceit don’t sit well with somebody who is telling the truth. Discussion is one thing but this is a witch hunt and to be honest I am better than it.
There will also be some comments that could be considered rude, but there will also be constructive comments, even some that disagree, yet still manage to be civil about it.
Some comments are pure conjecture from their behalf and assumptions are rather extreme. To call somebody a liar is pretty bold, to then accuse of being bitter, jobs-worth, know it all know [zb] all merchant etc. These slurs aren’t warranted or welcomed, if somebody spoke like that to me to my face they’d be laid out. The fact is though, they wouldn’t making such accusations because if they knew me they’d know it’s true.
Unless you only posted to get a bunch of “Well done mate, you tell em” type responses, in which case, welcome to the real world!!
You’re making assumptions yourself there, again, it’s a pattern that’s emerged far too frequently. I care and value opinion based on experience, I wanted replies that are constructive. Is that too much to ask on a ‘Professional drivers forum’?
Another thing you may wish to consider, you just quit a job because you didn’t like the way they do things, now you’re quitting this thread as you don’t like what you’re seeing. There may be a big life lesson learned from sticking to your beliefs and standing your ground, both at the anonymous company and here on this forum
I cannot tell by text to take that as a piece of advice or whether it’s a pedantic tone you have? I did well at school and I have an industry to fall back on let alone a class1 licence. I am wise to the world and 100% back my beliefs and principles. I quit my job because they put my licence, bank balance and freedom at risk if I continued there. I am quitting here (if comments remain unhelpful) because I don’t have to prove jack [zb] to anybody especially [zb] whom accuse people they don’t even know of lying. I’ve not come here to be cheered for, I haven’t come here to be heckled. I have come here for advice from people in the know who are impartial and knowledgeable. Unfortunately the standards of conduct of members on here and what they have been allowed to post means they have been deemed unhelpful and I am shocked that you, as an admin, as allowed such slurs to be made by them.
The way it works is that other members are allowed to express their opinions, no matter whether they agree with you or not, so long as they remain within the site rules.

I am on the side of the OP on this one and they need shutting down now.Send an email to Vosa enforcment,no need to give your name.
It is everybodies business what they are doing.
We moan the public hate lorries and drivers, these muppets add fuel to the fire.
One day a driver or member of public will get killed and then it is jail time.
It is a rogue operator that appears to be tax dodging and should be named and shamed on Tnuk with Rikki’s permission under public safety issues.Yes report them today.
I saw the title of this thread and assumed it was something along the lines of “I am a woman trapped in a man 's body, I can’t hide my true self from the world any longer”

in sorry if u think i was havin a go fela. Coz i wasent, i just meant most exp drivers will have seen this type of operation before, and you can either roll with it, or look elsewhere. At one time this industry was full of cowboys. Running all hours night/day with a certain fuse out and Micheal jacksons name on the chart. This type of operation is almost extinct now thanks to new legislation, laws, ect. But now thanks to that firm u will be wise to these practices. And next time u will know better!! Chalk it down pal, it wont be the last lot u will encounter

There’s a lot happened in 2 weeks then
Cos on Jan’ 7th all seemed good
It’ll be a shame to leave the firm I am at, as the guys are helpful, patient and genuinely good people.
The OP has got aggrieved former employee written all other it. That’s all I saw and it’s all VOSA and Plod will see as well.
Considering I can work out who he was on for from his post history he might find it’s him in the dock for libel.
Hahahahaha you moron.
Good luck with a libel case when I’ve not mentioned a single name or the company. You are puddle deep.
Visa won’t have to assume anything, they only have to wait around the corner from depot and they will catch drivers overloaded. That alone is enough. Then they can go to depot and get drivers history up. One round worked by a guy with no licence for four weeks. Good luck to anyone defending that case.

Because I was there when O licence holder asked driver for his licence and then let him go. He said they can no longer go without seeing his licence. I watched the guy pack his stuff up and leave and got the lowdown.
Again, I wouldn’t make such bold statements without seeing for myself. That’s why I am worried about the standards. Had I not seen anything dodgy I’d not be concerned.

Best advice yet and what I’ve said to myself all day.
Chalk them off as experience and take in my stride. Takes the bad to realise the good?
