I think he was cutting off the errant pedestrian’s escape route and having a word through his passenger window.

Once a copper, always a copper.

Am I right Micky?

Nope, your jumping the gun there. I do have footage of a second later her pulling off

Why did you cut them off then?

Every proffesional driver cough cough knows that pedestrians have right of way.

Green light for me, plus they, for some reason walked back the other way

Sorry to go off topic but have you got a link for the memory car you use please ? Cheers

A better title for the video might be “Two numpties with a death wish”…

I Agree, it was nothing to do with it being a woman driver and nothing to do with undertaking, it was to do with two people crossing a main road without looking.

To be fair they did seem to realise they’d done something pretty dumb, nevertheless they were lucky to get away with it unscathed.

the Cilo hadn’t committed any offence anyway . under taking is passing a vehicle on the near side then moving back out to the offside lane … progressive driving or the other vehicle was lane hogging

I wouldn’t dispute in any way that them people shouldn’t have been walking into the road without looking. But I don’t think aggressively changing lanes & accelerating at speed towards a roundabout with a pedestrian crossing just before it would qualify as safe driving either. If she was driving sensibly it wouldn’t have been the close shave it was. It’s a two way street.

Maybe they saw the ex-copper in a big van waiting to bend their ears and thought better of it?

If another car driver who had been driving safely had arrived at that point at the same time would the result have been any different do you think? I agree that the Clio driver was far from perfect but the blame lies with pedestrians who failed to comply with even basic common sense.

They didn’t even look. They just walked out

Probably not, but somebody driving along cooly & slowing in good time for the roundabout would have had much better odds of swerving out of the way than she did.

My point is that ■■■■ can happen & pedestrians can walk out into the road without looking, think of the old child with a football scenario. You drive in a manner so that should something bad happen, you give yourself a chance to avoid a collision or minimalise impact. That’s what your supposed to do anyway, no one is perfect. Which is why I think if the worst happened and the police saw this footage, she might not be totally off scot free.

I had something similar the other day in Preston. Split crossing with lights. Couple of kids just walked out straight in front of the lorry, luckily if had a feeling that something like that was going to happen and had slowed right down.

Strange thing is they didn’t even press the button to turn the lights red. They were only about 11. :open_mouth:

i’m going for the clio “driving without due care and attention” if there had been an accident

should’nt overtake (or worst undertake) on the approach to a crossing.

but yes the pedestrians where a couple of puddings too but it would be nice to be doing things right so you aint to blame when the ■■■■ hits the fan.

Camera looks great for the money

Have you had any issues with it at all, I require one for multidrop so it would be on/ off alot. unless it runs off its own battery for a time.

Do you know if it records in .avi?

Cheers

Watched it now, presume my bandwidth wasn’t up to it last time. Darwin almost saw another 2 off…

Not got a clue about avi  I stick card in and it records over and over again in five minute clips. I leave it in a socket in an inverter and leave it connected in to a socket that always stays on, not the ■■■ lighter as it will always turn on and off. No issues with it so far touch wood
