Camera looks great for the money

Have you had any issues with it at all, I require one for multidrop so it would be on/ off alot. unless it runs off its own battery for a time.

Do you know if it records in .avi?

Cheers

Not got a clue about avi  I stick card in and it records over and over again in five minute clips. I leave it in a socket in an inverter and leave it connected in to a socket that always stays on, not the ■■■ lighter as it will always turn on and off. No issues with it so far touch wood

Thanks for that, I think I’ll invest in one

Just as a side note. I have one of these and dont put too much faith in it if you work nights. The darkness recordings are poor quality. Also, don’t go any higher than a 4gb memory card. It says up to 32gb but if you put a card that big in it, the recordings become corrupted. 4gb is plenty for 2 hours worth of videos.

Just a usual day then.Lorrries traveling far too close to each other on damp roads.
car drivers and pedestrians as observant as ever!

Thanks m1cks, will only be used for daylight hours, its cheap enough to leave in the truck when left parked up at the yard too.

I wouldn’t dispute in any way that them people shouldn’t have been walking into the road without looking. But I don’t think aggressively changing lanes & accelerating at speed towards a roundabout with a pedestrian crossing just before it would qualify as safe driving either. If she was driving sensibly it wouldn’t have been the close shave it was. It’s a two way street.

If another car driver who had been driving safely had arrived at that point at the same time would the result have been any different do you think?

Probably not, but somebody driving along cooly & slowing in good time for the roundabout would have had much better odds of swerving out of the way than she did.

My point is that [zb] can happen & pedestrians can walk out into the road without looking, think of the old child with a football scenario. You drive in a manner so that should something bad happen, you give yourself a chance to avoid a collision or minimalise impact. That’s what your supposed to do anyway, no one is perfect. Which is why I think if the worst happened and the police saw this footage, she might not be totally off scot free.

i agree with what you say but every now and then some halfwit will get through all your defences and then you’re in the lap of the gods.

They should have been looking what’s coming down the road and waiting for the crossing to go green.

It might also teach the ■■■■ in the car to not undertake and slow down a bit when approaching junctions and crossings

Trust you to reply like that.

i can only see 2 trucks going close. All doing 15 to 20 mph in speed.

Change the tune

A better title for the video might be “Two numpties with a death wish”…

I Agree, it was nothing to do with it being a woman driver and nothing to do with undertaking, it was to do with two people crossing a main road without looking.

To be fair they did seem to realise they’d done something pretty dumb, nevertheless they were lucky to get away with it unscathed.

+1
the Cilo hadn’t committed any offence anyway . under taking is passing a vehicle on the near side then moving back out to the offside lane … progressive driving or the other vehicle was lane hogging  oh and Tesco couldn’t mak his mind up either

Think you’ll find it’s 3pts & a fine for over or under taking on zig zags

so lane 2 for arguments sake is stationary full of traffic in your answer NO ONE can pass them on the left eh .because that’s what you have just said .

It wasn’t on zigzags either was it ? Just before if my memory is right lol

A couple more things to add to the mix

  1. The op was in the nearside lane. He then moves over quite late into the middle lane - was the car already in the correct middle lane and felt cut up by the OP so was trying to get in front again.
  2. Its an approach to a roundabout with multiple exits. As the two lanes lead to different directions, passing on the nearside of a vehicle in lane 2 is permissable.

The main concern from this clip is the delay in reactions from the near miss driver. Either she was oblivious to the hazard or she was distracted by something else (mobile, facebook, the OP giving the coffe sign for cutting in?)

I wondered how long it would be before someone blamed the OP.

Are your eye’s painted on, clearly on zig zags one car is passing the other. Also someone i know was done was done for passing on the inside of a police 4th car back in the queue on the outside lane & the lights was on red, he didn’t go through the lights but stopped at the line.

Sorry DP

(only an assumption )

I think the car driver reacted rather well. she had 2 options hit a pedestrian which would have resulted in a pos death. swerve and miss or pos take out the car she just passed .Rather quick reactions to get away with it either way.

I think if she had been distracted the result would have been hitting the lads .
would you have expected anyone to just saunter out into the road.

MAYBE A NEW CLAIM TO BLAME SCAM :open_mouth:
get hit by a car get a VERY BIG pay out. worth the pain if your not earning and don’t want to work, after all a good smack you could claim for years …

I haven’t blamed the OP, just suggested a reason as to why the car acted like it did.
A for my eyes painted on? No they’re not. If they are going different directions then the car is making no attempt to pass the other car. If it had passed in the N/S lane and then pulled back out into the O/S lane then fair enough.

er Coca cola kid zig zags are also a NO Parking / stopping which I think you’ll find is the relevance at this point .

White zig zag lines are placed either side of the pedestrian crossing areas at all UK pedestrian crossings. Prohibition of parking in the white zig zag area increases the safety of pedestrians crossing the road as they will have a clear view or the road in both directions. An unobstructed view of the crossing for motorists is especially important at zebra crossings and light controlled crossings where the lights have changed to green for the motorists but a pedestrian may still be crossing - this can be particularly relevant to the elderly who may take longer to cross or children crossing at an inappropriate time.
