Pretty normal to find rats at any waste yard, normal occurance in most places I go to. Same with the smell and flies, all just part of the job. If any of these are a problem to you then its not a job for you. We seem to find if a driver manages a month they seem to last a while, can be a high turnover industry as its not the most pleasant job especially when using a pole to get all the dangling carp into your trailer after loading if they haven’t got a grab to clean it off for you.

Being from an agri background means not much puts me off, but on a warm day tipping Bio (green garden waste and food waste mixed) can take your breath when in the tipping shed, as can Ad digester solids, along with seperated sweeper sludge. All makes black bag waste smell nice compared to them

Black bin bags could smell better? Haha

What sort of waste is it? Household or commercial?
