I have varacus veins, and I have been to see the doctor who prescribed a stocking to wear on that leg and he said to me that if it starts hurting then I should go back to see him, but every now and again I get little pains nothing major but still little pains and it also seems to “thump” (if you know what I mean?) occasionally, now I know I SHOULD see the doctor but Im a little worried about what could happen as he said that it could lead to an operation

Daf95 theres no point in ignoring the dr’s orders by going back if pain is felt. If left un-treated god knows what could happen, if caught early enough dont they just remove the varicus vein?
My mum had hers done when I was a kid and I’m sure the surgery she had was very minor as they just cut them at the ends and seal them up rather than remove them entirely. So if it’s still the same, I wouldn’t worry too much about the operation.
