Yeah, the old man drove his lorrie just about to every destination. He’s been to Irak or Iran as well (before it all went wrong over there), they were even talking about doing a trip to China, but that didn’t pass…
When I was a young lad he took me on a trip to Maroc, and one off the Baltic States, I think it was Estonia, quite a different world if you’re a young lad…
Can you please locate that thread for me Danne, I’m quite curieus about it
I’ve been a member for about a week now, and I must say, I’ve came across some cracking pics
Esspecially the ones from the '80’s en 90’s era 'cause that takes me back to my own childhood, running along with my dad in his Scania 112h and later on a Volvo F12, those were the days…
And let’s not forget the pics of the mighty ERF’s, Foden’s and Scammells, never saw those much abroad…
However, I’m a lorry driver myself for about 10 odd years know, and I’ve been working most of that time for dutch heavy haulier v.d. Vlist and I was just wondering if any body has got some pics of v.d. Vlist doing transports in the U.K.
Here are some pics of transports I’ve done myself.
Regards, Patrick

Hiya Chris,
Apologies for the late answer, but I just came back from a two week round trip…
But can I just say you’ve made me a very happy man with the pic off that mighty Scammell , I’ve been a great fan of Scammells, and it wasn’t untill last march that I saw one “in the flesh”, this being a Crusader, it’s been worth the wait
We do a lot of hauling for the english troops based in Germany, but all the Scammells they used to have are all gone now, even the Foden’s are quite a rare sight these days, it’s all MAN nowadays…

Hiya Richard,
I never knew that they had a bonneted Scania at Collett’s, would be a great sight to see that in the Collett’s livery I reckon . And cracking shot off that DAF mate, they did used it for quite a long time then, it was already a classic in the late 90’s.
I loaded a CAT tipper this last monday in the yard of John Dickinson, they to have got some equipment, and a proper ERF which they use as a shunter, didn’t take any pics though due to the “mildly rain”…

Hiya Richard,
What a staggering beauty that Scania! A true shame they don’t make 'em like that anymore… And being in black and white gives it a all more nostalgia feeling doesn’t it Where there more of does in the fleet back in the day, 'cause it looks familiar, maybe in a other livery?
Dirty Dan:
Looks like you have had a good couple of weeks How mutch can you load on you trailer?
Hiya Danne,
Yeah, wasn’t to bad the last three weeks The trailer was designed to take loads up to 30t, and that is quite the limit for the trailer…GVW then when loaded is 48t.
