Nice found DEANB!
If my memory serves me well, this was a “internal” job, they’ve loaded that big ol’ CAT at the Ritchie Bros. premises situated in Moerdijk and brought it down to the v.d. Vlist yard, also in Moerdijk.
Will dig into my archives, should have some more info about it somewhere…
Cheers, Patrick
Found the info;
The weight of the CAT was 182t, width was 5m37, height was 6m55…

That’s why I like to load the more “little” versions, like the one pictured, much easier

Hiya Pete,
It’s been posted on page 1 mate by Oily, it’s a Len Rogers original.
I can fill in the “blind spots” though, this particular unit was the first Merc in the fleet with the “gross raum” cab, was eventually replaced by a 10 wheeled Ginaf, just two of those were build, and the one in our fleet was truly special, being fitted with a superspace cab.
Will post some pic’s of that Ginaf later on.
The Merc eventually was passed on to the v.d. Vlist Czech fleet were it did last a few good years in service.
Trailer was bought second hand, previous owner was a German firm that went bankrupt…
Cheers, Patrick

Hereby some footage of the Ginaf and it’s replacement…
What is this?
Both cabs look as if they have been chopped, to make space for the booms of cranes.

One of the French pilots “snapped” us while we stopped to give one of my colleagues a hand, his alternator belt came of due to a overheated bearing… you can see me strolling back to me lorry on the second pic…
This all took place last year in France, we did several of these loads, and brought it all to a tiny village near Roye, alongside the A1.
