Hiya,
Cracking looking model there mate! But I’ve to disapoint you, there never was a such 10 wheeled Merc in the fleet, nor was there such a trailer…
In fact the only one build (Merc Titan) was especially designed for a Norwegian firm, think I’ve got a pic of it somewhere…
Cheers, Patrick
Edit; found that Norwegian wagon…
Found some more interesting footage of Dabekausen, long before they were part of the v.d.Vlist group. To be honest, Dabekausen already did heavy haulage at a time nobody else knew what that meant…

Came across these yesterday Patrick.

Cheers Oily, much appreciated mate
To my knowledge there were only two 12 wheelers build as a tractor unit, both did run in the v.d. Vlist fleet, one had the topline cab, the other a low p-cabin with a “chopped” roof.
Main reason to have build those two was to increase the overall length and to minimise the use of a extra set of dolly’s, plan didn’t really worked all that well though, France for example just didn’t allow the units on it’s roads, simply because the authorities didn’t acknowledge it…
And for every “tour” in Germany a new permit was needed, due to their reglementations…
So eventually they were both taken out of service, there was a plan to shorten them and convert them into 10 wheelers, but that plan didn’t follow suit, and the decision was made to sell both units.
Haven’t got a clue though about where they did end up…
I’ve been to Poland this week, tipped near Drawsko Pomorskie, and the weather conditions weren’t all that grand…
Was quite alright when we’d entered the country, but on our way back things got a bit white-ish and icy…
Patrick.
It’s an interesting and varied life that you lead. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Cheers Robert! Cracking found mate!
Can’t remember seeing that pic before, always looked a bit odd that “sniffler”
Behind the DAF is another cracking wagon, we’ve used that little Scanny as a shunter, pulled like a train!
Haven’t got it anymore, think it got scrapped in the end…
Cheers again Robert for posting it
