Hiya mate, you’re allright?!
It’s a bit similar to the one you’ve got in your fleet I reckon, and that first axle, well sometimes it’s a blessing but most of the time it’s just a pain in the arse… doesn’t steer all that brilliant and when I lift it, it doesn’t come high enough of the ground so you’re really laying some rubber on the street whilst manoeuvring into some tight spot
The empty weight is some 26ish tons, so I can’t take to much load on without a permit, with though I can load up to some 45ish tons, other lads even had some 50t on…
But according to the rumours these trailers are getting replaced by the new Nooteboom “manoovr” ( odd spelling isn’t it) by the end of the year, but for now it’s just rumours…
You just enjoy your time off mate, you certainly got lucky with the weather, like

Some pictures from this week
Right, took me some wee while to figure out a system for the archive I’ve got, but I reckon I’ve got things nicely “storaged” now.
Plan is to begin with the oldest pic’s I’ve got and then just carry on to see how things have evolved over the years.
Some pic’s have been posted before, but I’ve tried to “up-date” some of them, not that easy so bair with me, quality isn’t always that good, back then photograpy took a wee bit longer then those camera’s we’ve got nowadays…
Cheers, Patrick
Superb collection of oldies, thanks for posting…

Top class Patric! Cant wait for more, keep them coming mate
What a wonderful record! Robert
Very nice viewing those old noses! Did you say your dad worked by v/d V? If so then you had real on the job training. At what stage did the green and yellow become part of the company colours?

Hiya,
Yup, the old man works for VDV as well, it was with another heavy haulage firm though were I was brought up, like.
Sadly they’ve ceased trading, but if they were still around to this day, there certainly was a possibility that I ended up working for them lot
They’ve started with just the orange livery, with black doors and the old logo on it, around mid-seventies I reckon the green came in, and later on the band of stripes on the cab.
But they’ve opted for just a darker bit of orange a few years ago as part of the “new” style… took some time to get used to that…
