UTC on digital tachos

Quick question about UTC on digital tachos

As a day driver I get a different truck each day, in the past week I’ve had 3 volvos (2 58 plates, 1 10 plate - all siemens tacho vu) that have magically added an hour to the UTC time. So if I start at 7am, utc has been saying 8am. All I’ve done is vor’d it and got the keys to a different truck. All the Scanias (Stoneridge vu) have been fine. It seems to have happened since we altered the clocks. As I’m the only driver to pick up on the issue, am I creating a rule that doesn’t exist or am I the only one actually checking and caring about the issue. I’m guessing vosa would love to lighten your wallet if they pulled you?

So after all that, what would make the vu add an hour on to UTC? and why are only a handful of trucks affected and not all of them? Is there anything we can do in the yard to make it revert back instead of keep taking them to the dealer to be fixed?

Mark.

How do you know it had added an hour, are you taking a printout right at the start of the shift to check?

For example I start at 7am…

The vu has been saying 7:00 with the black dot next to it which means that it’s showing local time not utc. Through the menu, to display UTC and it has been showing 8:00 as UTC. I did a vehicle printout to make sure and that also said 8:00 as UTC. It seems only a few vu’s have been affected as one of the vehicles I drove before we altered the clocks and it was fine.

No idea then.

That makes 2 of us
