Looking at buying a used Scania R420, does anyone know what these letters and numbers mean - LA6X2/4MNA
thanks in advance
No one knows what those letters mean, it’s a Scania mystery!
I would imagine the la bit is lift axle and obviously 6x2 is the axle config but the 4 Mna not sure on possibly manual or something else persanaly is buy something German
The 4 bit could mean euro 4
LA6X2/4MNA
LA means Long Distance Tractor Unit.
LB means Long Distance Rigid
6x2/4 means its a 6x2 with a lift axle that steers.
6x2/2 means its a 6x2 with a non steering lift axle.
MNA
M is medium duty, H is available on some models as a heavy duty frame.
N is normal height, H is available on some models as a higher chassis height, L as Low and E as extra low.
A is for Air suspension.
Hope this helps a little.
O well I was completely wrong better not give up my day job just goes to prove half of what people post on here is a load of old tosh

That’s what I thought when you said buy something German lol. To be honest I have a 6x2 lma . . . . . . .whatever and I wouldn’t know either, yeah buy something German
Only joking, Swedish every time for me
It’s not the clearest way if describing it. But it no doubt made perfect sense to a boffin sat in an office in Sweden!
