Urgent - stolen tappys truck scania 4 series bf52 jyn

nasty

I don’t really see the point to this. Surely if they nicked it for export part sales, the chassis & cab are saleable items?

It seems as though its just been done with the sole intention of the vehicle not being able to go back into service.

my exact thoughts as well it just seems like pointless destruction to me.

My guess is that it needed to be damaged/dismantled that much for them to try and export it as parts. If you tried to export something as parts and it looked too much like a complete intact truck then the authorities would look into it too much and perhaps find out the truth.

It’s just a shame they decided to pick a truck that had so many man hours of work gone into it and not just some bog standard fleet motor.

Not much to salvage there tappy they even removed the night heater controler just a few wheel trims and a bit of cheecker is all i can see take it you not got the light bars back they will end up on ebay or something.
What a waste of what was once a nice truck.
well a least you are ok dread to think what might have been had you been in it so at least you can be glade of that.

Looking at these pictures is sickening, and it wasnt even my truck…

Personally Tappy i would just walk away from it and dont try and salvage any of it mate… Just make a clean start from it all…

none of us can work out why be so rough with it, every u-bolt has been cut, a chassis cross member has been cut away to get the engine and box out in 1, this proves they wanted it solely for the running gear and none of the bits around it.

this is what i thought to to strat with, but if you look closely in 1 of the close up pictures of where the top light bar was they didnt un-bolt the light bar as the welded brackets are still bolted to the cab…so unless they can get them re made and re welded on the bar cannot go back on. from what i’ve been told this was probably done when the cab was jacked up then the check strap was cut which allowed the cab to go all the way over and head-but the floor.

i’m now driving a 02 plate in the same livery so time to start again with what i’ve got left see if i can get my mo-jo back and get back into it

good on yer tappy get your new one done up be good to see it and you at the shows mate

terrible that tappy, glad to hear your still working an you have picked yourself up after this, it would b heart breaking seeing your pride and joy like that !!

aidey:
Job for Keltruck there.
Let that be a warning don’t leave your truck in a layby. Unless you don’t like it of course.

i dont think tappy or anyone needs comments like this posted.after seeing the remains of his truck,i think thats bad enough.as far as laybys go,well,im holding my hands up,cos i cant afford to park mine in the services on a regular basis,as im on monthly pay, like others on here, and unless my company supplies a float, then it will be left in laybys!

for tappy:make the next one even better buddy! :grimacing:

Bit late now for Tappy, but a hidden switch on the fuel cut off solenoid line is very easy & cheap to fit.

Won’t stop 'em breaking into it, but will most likely stop them having it away.

its not in the best of conditions so i’ve not had any reason to get any pix of it just yet, now i’ve got some polish back no doubt i’ll get her lookin a little better…here’s the only 2 photo’s i’ve got of it.

hanks for that and i be looking forward to seeing it like new

also i keep an eye out for you when i am on the A1 near peterborough heading to one of my villages and i will give you a flash in the car ( which will be marked up lol)

am sure ya new scania wil look upto scratch soon tappy, im gathering u wil fitting the wheel trims on it soon and remainder of your bits, if i can find any bits an bobs that might interest you i wil send u a pm, also dagv8 has alot of bits for scania, wether he is selling them etc i dont no but maybe worth asking !

keep up the good work

Might be wise not to leave it unattended over night in the same lay bye. Even if previous lot are inside (are they?) crims have connections.

I understand used Scarnias are fairly hot property at the mo.

If i owned one, me thinks it would have a tracker fittted, (aswell as a silent alarm that alereted my mobile) just as i would any food grade stainless steel road tank i owned. (not to mention for the scrotes to read here of another way of making them difficult to move).

Welcome back my old mucker.

So your staying with the Starsky and Hutch theam are we

Been keeping an eye out thought I saw you the other week but didnt get a good eyeball on the truck and i’m bugg3red if i can remember where it was :open_mouth:

catch you round chap, be good be safe

I’m sure you’ll have her minted in no time mate.
I heard a rumour Mr Vain is quite good at polishing, (and he’s cheap to hire). Sorry Rob couldn’t resist.

Best of luck Tappy.

I’m entitled to my own opinion. My whole point being if you love your truck that much dont leave it in the way of temptation. As i said before £20.00 woukld have saved a lot of grief.
