I don’t need to make sure I take night out gear as it’s already in truck as I drive the same truck every day
robf1234:
you should go back to your car and get your night out gear" he also said he wants you to bring as little amount of gear with you as possible as not to upset the security guards, when they search you ,oh and when they give you the paper work you got 30 mins till you should be driving out the gate ?..i said to the trainer, it takes me 30 mins to find my unit ,dont think he was impressed ,
Upset the security guards? Seriously?
He would have been even less impressed if I gave him my answer
+1

well worth re readingJust read some of my posts on this from a year ago. I can’t believe what an arrogant bast I was then, and how much I have mellowed in 12 months
Must be part aging part getting in touch with my feminine side, I mean, it’s over a week now ffs since I fell out with somebody on here
Unplanned nights out should be in 5 star hotels I say
as a minimum 5*, being ex raf its all was used to
and a week is a long time given your fan club

I know mate, …I love being popular
I had an unplanned night out a few weeks ago, 45minutes from the depot due to a broken top deck. Our depot opted in to the 10 hour working rule, which meant I couldn’t work past midnight if I had over 10 hours working time.
Pillow and duvet from the store (which you keep), sandwich and juice, got paid 15 hours (despite only doing 13 and it being an OT shift) plus overnight money. Drove back to the depot after my 9 hours, handed my keys in and got sent home and paid for my 11.25 hours for that day. Not a fan of sleeping in a lorry, but they sure make it up to you.

Hi all,
At 0400 this morning because of the problems on the M25 i reached my 15 hour limit so had to park up on Trowell services for 9 hours, even though two hours previous i was told that i would be picked up in the van but later the office sead they could not as i was out of driving time, At this I contemplated running back reguardless of the law of the land, but sorry to say I chickened out, and paid the £21 parking charge. However i did get a full breckey out of it and about a half hours sleep, so I have lost todays pay because i am to tired to work.
Now the point in all this woffel to all the driving taco experts on here is that I think i am far more dangerous on the road after spending 9 sleepless hours in a cab although legal, than i would driving 2 and half hours above the 15 hour limit, and i would like to know if i could of got away with driving back to warrington due to lack of facilities. i.e. no pillow, bedding, and pee vessal. Also do the company for which i work not have a duty of care to there staff reguarding making sure that drivers are picked up and returned to base.
Thanks for any forthcomming advice and comments.
i think you are in the wrong profession ,if has already been said i apologize
