I’ll stand to be corrected, but I think it’s 4.5 metres, or about 14’ 9"
Generally 4.5m
I have posted this before, but a good reminder.
The basic rule is If it is not marked it will have a minimum height of 4.3m.
But, further digging produced:
La hauteur libre minimale sous ouvrage d’art est:
— 4,30 m sur l’ensemble du réseau routier national, départemental et communal;
— 4,50 m sur les grandes routes de trafic international décrites dans l’accord de
Genève du 15 novembre 1975 (AGR) et précisées par décision ministérielle;
— 4,75 m sur les autoroutes
I can’t remember now where found it.
Thanks both - This doesn’t really affect me as I usually run at 4m but its worth knowing
Heres the translation of what Heraultis posted
4.30 m on the entire national road network , departmental and communal
4.50 m on main international traffic described in the agreement
Geneva, 15 November 1975 (AGR) and specified by ministerial decision
4.75 m on motorways
I regularly run at 4.5m all over France and have never had a problem. Beware that many other countries such as Germany, Belgium & Holland only sign bridges below 4m though.
