Going back a while but can anyone remember pulling United States Lines boxes out of Felixstowe in the '70s. From memory they used to be loaded on their own skels or flats in the terminal because I can recall being sent solo to collect a box on wheels only to find that it needed palm couplings which I hadn’t got. I think I cadged a set from someone that I never did give back! I suppose USL must either have gone broke or been taken over by or absorbed into another container line.

I used to pull USL 40ft boxes ex Felixstowe when on for Humber McVeigh Salford,in fact I still have a
glass pint pot with the US logo printed on it,the load, minus 1,was destined for the US navy stores!
