Yeah, the Cortina and Granada marking system were out of step by about ten years; first Cortina about early 60s, first Granada early 70s (but based on the old Zephyr)
Hence the Mk2 Granda was more akin in looks to the Mk4 Cortina.

I have been noticing a mk3 Granada in Hampton quite often over the last few weeks.autoexpress.co.uk/consumer- … s-fees?amp
Edit mk2, getting cortinas and Granadas mixed up in my memory!
Might have been better if that link had showed a Granada, it’s showing an Austin Allegro
This is a Mark 2 Granada (lovely ride as I recall)
0Perhaps as I am not quite old enough to remember the 60’s, I had assumed that Granadas and Cortinas had always been around in parallel. It shocked me slightly to realise that is only a mk2!
Mk 1 Granada was 70’s contemporay with the Mk3 Cortina.
Mk 2 Cortina was contemporary with the Granada’s predessor Mk4 Zodiac and Zephyr.
MK1 Cortina would have been between the MK2 to Mk 3 Zodiac and Zephyr.
Zodiac/Zephyr and Granada were in the premium Ford range which ended with the Granada Scorpio like the opposing Vauxhall Cresta/Ventora/Senator/Omega.

Just to correct that the MK4 Zodiac/Zephyr had nothing in common with the MK2/3 except the name.It did have more in common with the Granada.
The evidence from this landmark report is clear – the ULEZ works. This is beyond dispute. It has already reduced toxic air pollution by almost half in central London and by over a fifth in inner London, transforming the quality of air for four million Londoners.
“But there’s still more to do. Toxic air is a matter of life and death, with around 4,000 deaths in London attributed to air pollution in 2019. It’s also stunting the growth of children’s lungs and causing people to develop life-changing illnesses, such as cancer, lung disease, dementia and asthma.

It’s almost as though air never moves isn’t it?

So Mr Kahn would obviously want to issue an outright ban on the supposed polluting vehicles including the total closure of Heathrow airport with it’s combination of toxic vehicle and aircraft jet engine emissions.
As opposed to it’s ok to pollute so long as it contributes to his GLA account and aircraft are conveniently exempt as usual.
Also since when was Harefield and Bexley and Chessington supposedly ‘London’ other than the designation within the laughable designation imposed by the Tory created London Government Act.

The Velocity of Air is proportional to the area enclosing it.
This is why when you ■■■■ in a lift/in your cab - it is instantly smelled by all others present, but then lingers until the doors open.
Looks like the 2030 petrol/diesel ban is up in the air.

Hopefully a permanent U turn.Unless the government wants to decimate the motor industry and retail sector which is enough to crash the economy. There’ll obviously be howls of protest from the anti car luddites including those within the Tory ranks.

Nah - it’s just Sunak messing his drawers in panic trying to find something to avoid complete wipeout at the election.

EV car owners - are now going to be thrown under the bus the same way Diesel owners were… I predict…

Yes,probably.
Add starmer’s recent attempt at political suicide…into the equation…and he might be onto something.
Wouldn’t have owt to do with an upcoming electoral event I’m sure.
Some car makers aren’t happy! Ford said it had already invested 430 million pounds ($531 million) in its U.K. facilities and had been planning further investments to fit with the 2030 timeline, BMW has invested $730 million to revamp the Oxford plant to support electric MINI production as the brand looks to go 100% EV in the coming years.
JLR are also calling for clarity over the re-date.
BEV parts manufacturers aren’t going to be happy either with the re-date.

So an admission that the vociferous net zero freak show knows that its minority luddite ideas has no democratic mandate and predictably terrified that it will be made an election issue which it should have been from the start.
The truth is there is no majority who want to trade their superior petrol powered cars for an inferior EV toy sold at a proper car price to add to the profits of Ford and PSA.
The firm that created the Mustang should be ashamed of itself in its cynical attempt to subvert democracy for its own perceived profit
The challenges are already being delivered to court by Clientearth,Greenpeace,Good law project & friends of the earth. Saying as the government is signed up & a fully paid member of NetZero it’ll be interesting to see what happens.
The re-date to push the timeline back to 2035 is pretty academic really when the ZEV mandate will still come into force next year whereas 22% of all car manufacturers new vehicles & 10% of all new vans will have to be electric, This will then rise incrementally each year to 80% for cars and 70% for vans in 2030, and 100% for both by 2035.
“If a company misses the target, it will be made to pay the Government £15,000 for every vehicle that doesn’t comply.”

Yep the idea of let’s tax < Euro 6 diesels and < Euro 4 petrols off the road did wonders for Labour’s election chances in Uxbridge.
So now Starmer wants to go one better by banning all fossil fuelled car use and gas fired central heating. Then the deluded commy scumbag thinks we’ll all vote for it.
The only way he’ll win an election on that manifesto would be if his commy stormtroopers can rig it.
As for the EV sales quotas that’s working well for desperate EV sellers. The losses in unsold EV stocks more than outweigh the fines at any price.Bearing in mind that every lost sale also = thousands possibly tens of thousands in lost VAT revenues of a decent ICE petrol fuelled car.
Let’s see what kind of prices that second hand EV Hybrid cars come on the market for - if they ever do!
All I see are “near new” cars on the market for practically full price still…
Do vendors really think that they can justify a car holding it’s value - when petrol/diesel ones lose a substantial percentage the moment you drive them brand new off the forecourt of purchase?
Vendors don’t need to justify anything. The market dictates, not the vendors.
“Get woke, go broke” - the likely outcome of such “market forces”…
