Ukrainian trucks in uk?

Hello everyone,

Ukraine is not in EU, and I was wondering if truckers can come and stay here in UK for 6 weeks like Europeans do. Does anyone know the answer to this question? Thanks,

No, they can’t do that. Ukrainian registered trucks can deliver a load into an eu country, then load in that country or any other eu country, but the load has to then be delivered into a non-eu country, either back to Ukraine or elsewhere outside the eu. They cannot do cabotage, which includes any internal eu load.

thanks,

Are the cabotage rules changing Harry?

I believe they are at some point in the future but I don’t know when, perhaps someone will have a date.

Unless they have ecmt permits of course

A Ukrainian cannot enter the UK without a visa.
We can enter Ukraine without a visa however.
Fact.

This is correct, but the situation is unlikely to stay this way for much longer since visa arrangements between countries are traditionally bilateral.

As British visitors no longer need a visa to visit Ukraine, this is a fairly safe indication that the UK will shortly be welcoming hordes of visa-free Ukrainians here as Romanians and Bulgarians are too expensive to employ.

Doesn’t necessarily follow Harry. I can enter Thailand or the Philippines on a visa waiver stamp for 30 or 21 days respectively anytime I like. Don’t expect the Thais & Filipinos being able to do the same in the UK any time soon. Ain’t gonna happen.

True but I’d say thats to facilitate their very important tourist industries with visitors from the likes of the UK. I dont think such a trade exists with Brits in Ukraine or vice versa. It could just be wishful thinking on the Ukrainian side though, they let us in without restriction, in the hope we’ll follow suit one day.

Not quite. You can only stay 90 days in any 180. After 90 days you would be on overstay.
If caught you would likely be locked up in a detention centre before being deported and probably fined.
