From someone like you Keith, I’m honoured…
Instead of throwing beer cans at each other, can we get back to the once-healthy debate we had on this thread please…
I’m interested in why someone might vote for the main parties in terms of what that party is doing to have won your vote - not what you don’t like about UKIP as to merely “not vote for them”.
Likewise, I’d like to know what it is about UKIP that you really think they would implement, abolish, or go back on - which warrants a vote, or lack therefof.
Being now implemented, the DCPC subject itself is a dead duck now, until we have a change in government - which is the only way it can be altered/overturned in any aspect. That was the original connection to UKIP in the thread title - as they are currently perceived as the only party that would likely make any changes to what is now “status quo”.
Does anyone perceive possible changes from any party OTHER than UKIP? - Let’s hear some arguments…
Does anyone else think like myself - that UKIP won’t “scrap” the DCPC on gaining any kind of power (most likely coalition) - but will instead “alter” it so that it is much harder for “nyet goveree pa angleeski” newcomers to get a look-in?
Over to you guys…
i do believe ukip have come out saying that the dcpc would be scrapped so there is one reason for my vote
however i have said its not just the dcpc that has got my back up
from emigration to all the rules europe has imposed on us it has cost us dearly, standards of living are down in terms of pay, i was on £7.50 an hour 15 years ago with overtime after 8 hours at time and half double time for sundays bank hols etc
we have just had to revamp a building in our town to convert it into a mosque for 60 people who have that religion as its been forced on our council to spend that money they have no choice but to comply they have to by law
despite all the poverty around in our town these crackpot things take priority and its shouldn’t be that way many locals are angry at it all and one even nailed a pigs head to the door of the building as there so outraged, the police are now having to spend even more money to make sure this thing doesn’t get out of hand, as its more important to drive the angry people down than to see the sense of things
it is certainly becoming a race issue were it shouldnt be one, the people are welcome to live here and have no problems with race issues but when they start demanding we supply them with things costing the town in much needed money paid for by our council tax well it starts to show up the madness of living in this country is fast becoming in this political correct nation
if i came and lived in your house wouldnt you expect me to respect your rules on your home ? or would you be happy for me to do my own thing in your home and would you also be happy for me to get you to pay for things i would like in your home ? and if you dont pay for it then its against the law and your in trouble
well thats what is happening now across all of our towns, people are fed up with being made to feel like they dont belong here anymore or there home is not there home anymore
that is just one issue that is facing my town that really has woken me up and a lot of other people up to what is really going on around us
the prospect is that its going to become the norm as its more important to be seen to be a good political correct type of person than to be one of just plain common sense
i think this is why nigel farage is doing so well as a leader as he is talking common sense to people not racist or kick the buggers out type of rubbish but a common sense approach to all these sorts of things that is happening and will get worse the longer we have these ties with Europe
the sad thing is the posh end of the country will still decide what the rest of us will have to put up with and that will never change unless of course it happens in there own back yard and they have to pay for it
oh by the way
before some joker picks up on it
i have to say it was not me who nailed the pigs head to the new mosque door, better make that clear just incase mi5 or mi6 are hunting the internet looking for who did it as its bound to be a huge political uproar, the culprits must face the harshest punishments the country can throw at them, despite the fact most people will have fell of there chairs laughing at such a prank

Hi,I am just wondering if UKIP get in if they will abolish the DCPC; not that they will be elected.
Simple answer is :
1 - they’ll never get in so why the question !
2 - will they ■■■■ abolish anything
2a - about as much chance of council tax being abolished
End of!!
No one thought the “Libdems would ever be in government” before 2010… I’d say UKIP have got no worse chance than them next year.
Abolishing stuff is real easy - if it saves the exchequer loads of cash (eg. scrapping HS2) which in turn produces enough cash to fulfil a load of other promises, otherwise unfunded.
Abolishing foreign aid is also a popular move. Money given to charity should be the choice of the individual, and we should not have government deciding which charities are “more deserving” or “less deserving” of what amounts to OUR cash be directed not necessarily where we want it to go…
“Not giving any more money to the United States of Deutschland” is the clear vote winner among people old enough to know or remember what “German Appeasement” did for us last time around of course…
Just going back to the original post, would UKIP abolish the DCPC?..Why would they want to? Drivers may think its a terrible thing, but I’m sure that if the general public were asked, they’d say that anything that improves driving standards and road safety is a good thing. The fact that it doesn’t is neither here nor there - people vote for ideas, and scrapping the DCPC could cost UKIP votes
For many drivers, the DCPC has been a waste of time, but that’s not a reason to scrap it, it’s a reason to improve it.

Ukip will scrap the Driver CPC if it comes to power next year, the party’s transport spokeswoman has pledged.
Speaking to CM after the party had its first Westminster MP elected last week, Ukip MEP Jill Seymour (pictured) confirmed the party’s intention to do away with the Driver CPC.
Speaking at Ukip’s conference in Doncaster last month, Seymour set out the party’s position when she said of the Driver CPC: “It is a menace. It’s expensive, it’s over-complicated and it’s causing many truck or bus drivers either to lose their jobs or to take early retirement.”

Complete waste of time. A political party with no hope of getting elected, can say anything they like to make themselves look good. It’s like saying that if 50 million quid dropped into my lap right now, I’d give every penny to charity. It won’t happen, so nobody can disprove it.
I’d say the “having to take yet another medical” or “renew your digi/licence cards” all too often will be costing drivers a lot more money than getting a blue card renewed once every 5 years…
Perhaps we’re barking up the wrong tree here?
The general public don’t get to “lose their licences” when they’ve had a number of bumps that implies they are medically unfit to continue holding a car licence…
The playing field needs levelling out. The medical at 45 and 70 needs to be a lot stricter, but the ones between we’re due at present need to be dropped entirely - thus bringing us back in line with the general public, which, let’s face it, we’re playing dodgems with on a daily basis. It would save a lot more lives removing some of the general public unfit to drive from the roads than a pre-emptive strike by removing a LGV licence (and livelihood with it!) from some random driver with a lot of experience - merely because they’ve become a diabetic, had a mild heart attack etc etc…

That’s exactly the sort if comment people made about the Lib Dems who happen to be currently jointly running the country.
You might believe the anti-ukip bias in the corporate media but David Cameron certainly doesn’t or he would have not been so evasive when asked if he would enter a coalition with ukip.
From his own rhetoric on ukip, they are apparently all racists. Well in that case you’d think he’d be happy to go on record about not jointly running the country with racists. The fact he won’t tells you all you need to know about ukip’s election chances.
In fact a vote for ukip could well be a good chance of a vote for a ukip government but no-one’s going to let that slip on the six o’clock BBC news broadcast.

David Cameron probably isn’t even slightly worried about UKIP winning the election. He’s worried about a protest vote that will allow labour to win the election. And to say the Lib Dems are jointly running the country is stretching it a little…they’re hanging on to the tories, who are running the country. UKIP are riding high at the moment, mainly on the back of some good results in local elections. However, local, European and even by elections are notorious for people voicing their dissatisfaction by protest votes. General elections are different, people usually return to there original allegiances.

It’s easy to do, if you rely on the news but, it’s not about the by-election ukip won it’s about the one they didn’t. It suggests there isn’t a risk of voting ukip and getting the labour bogeyman as in the other by-election, ukip didn’t win, the biggest swing was from Labour to ukip. This wasn’t in any old constituency it was in a Labour stronghold where most of the population would rather kill themselves than vote tory.
That one trick pony wants to put a grammar school in every large town so that those not able to afford private educataion a chance to rise up and better theselves. They have also said the NHS will not be privatised and be free at point of need, I hope they do well rather them than Labour who have made it verey hard for young ones to own their own home, dont forget MPs of both parties bought second homes and so had a vested intrest in house price inflation ,and then we have NICK the no tuition fee turn coate the thought of power he would have flogged his gran ,and then we have dave multi millionair what can I say,um I think I will vote UKIP

I think that feint is starting to lose power, what with milliband close to political death this very week as he is…
Perhaps Caramellon should start saying “Vote UKIP - Get ME! - My only hope of being PM after next May is in a Coalition with UKIP… Don’t vote UKIP, and it’ll be May after Me instead. You might like the sound of that, - but I don’t!”
Hands up who thinks I look like Ed Balls in this pic? - So much for those who say I’m “All ■■■■, and no balls”…
Why is Cameron currently flirting with the idea of restricting the influx of EU nationals? Independant figures have shown that these EU migrants have a positive nett effect on our economy, whereas non EU immigrants are nett detractors. A no brainer really for Dave, shut the borders to non EU.
the maoster:

That may be the case: However, like the DCPC, none of it was democratically consulted with the UK electorate thereby exposing the bullying illegitimacy of diktats from the EU and Camerons spineless acquiescence to them
