There is a different thread on here which mentions people reading the Highway Code, it occured to me that I havent actually even seen a copy since about 1985 - when I did my HGV 1 - thats 23 years!!
How long is it since other board members actually read it?
Did anyone else read the article in trucking magazine
april 2008 edition page 138 on there is 29 new rules
added to the 2008 edition and they seem to contradict
themselves
I last scanned through it last December when I did my D and CE tests. I think I only really took in the page about speed limits.
2008 Edition? Is there yet another one? I only got my last copy in October.
I’ve only read about the first 50 pages of the Irish Rule of the Road, might get round to fathoming out what some of the more unusual signs mean (where they actually exist!) The RSA actually sent a copy free to every household, but I doubt many have used it other than to prop up a shoogly table leg

May I be cheeky and ask did she do an easy RSA test, or a “turn up and pass” SGS test
(For those that don’t know the Road Safety Authority is the equivalent of the DSA for driving tests. Due to the massive waiting lists for tests, the government in it’s wisdom sub-contracted a load out to SGS, a private company who also has the contract for doing all the NCTs (MOTs) for cars. It’s being noted by instructors and pupils alike, that some candidates that have sat a test with SGS shouldn’t have passed. - Ah well, it brings the waiting list down. It’s a repeat of the 1979 driving licence amnesty in disguise!)
Given what goes on here, you might begin to think that the DSA are very good and very consistent?!?
