Like Altitude I never thought of those Dodges as ugly, unlike the later ones…
Silly question but; Is that what was called a “Spanish Dodge”?
Thats the one Nathan, also known as the 300 series.
Ah in that case, they were the “'kin rust-bucket heap of S***” that an ex work colleague of mine once drove…
There were plenty of rust buckets about thirty years ago.The last firm I drove for had one of those Barreiros Spanish Dodges,as far as I know it went ok,there were several operating them around Herefordshire in those days.

Bloke I’m referring to then came off one and went onto an F reg Hino 6 wheeler. I used to load one like it (Hino) and with a steel body, their payload was something crap like 13 ton or so…

Don’t know much about Hino’s Nathan,a local firm had one about three years ago,but have since packed up with haulage. They look a strong vehicle suited more for the heavy end of tipper work, such as muckaway ( excuse the pun ).
Cheers Dave.

Johnnie, don’t you ever suggest I never supported your “Pension Fund”!!! I bought 3 of these portacabins from St Helens and gave the “job” to these “cowboy’s” This is the first one arriving in the depot at Milnthorpe, the driver was a bit of a dry old stick!! I think he’d spent to much time on “Highwaymen” and knock-out axles!!! Dennis.
