Uber eats riders earn 180 pounds a shift

I have it on good authority that burger delivery drivers are laughing at truck drivers, because they are on better terms and conditions than truck drivers.

I will certainly not be tipping the delivery of my take away from now on…

I’ve already ordered my scooter in preparation for my first shift.

That £180 would also need to cover the cost of owning/running the scooter or car that you use though…

Bull ! By the time you take fuel , tax , insurance , hp etc out of that they’ll be on way less than £180: :unamused: :unamused:
As usual a TNUK member twists the truth for effect

It most probably could be true on money earned. A relative of ours worked as a waitress in a London restaurant. She could earn just as much in tips as her wages.

They could do it on a bicycle. Not many expenses then!

I’m sure there’s…

Some tax and NI (unless they’re hiding behind an umbrella, in which case it’s even less) to be considered.

Also the chance of earning nothing at all the following week.

In Manchester it’s mostly peddle bikes and mopeds.

Oh well, that`s better than a sworn statement by the Pope then…

I think a few people have missed the sarcasm of the OP- it was in response to a reply Carryfast posted to me in another thread about me being insecure that burger delivery drivers would be laughing at me as a lorry driver.

THERE’S ONLY…

ONE REASON WE HAVE A GIG ECONOMY NOW.

TO INCREASE THE PROFITS OF THE MULTI-BILLIONAIRES AND THEIR FLUNKIES, THAT RUN MULTI-NATIONAL, TAX DODGING COMPANIES AT THE EXPENSE OF THOSE WHO ACTUALLY DO THE GRAFT.

IT REALLY IS THAT SIMPLE.

rant over i think ive made my point

I’ve done a bit more digging into the job and it appears that not only do you have to drive the food to the customers house but you actually have to carry it to their front door too - too much work for me, the job stated food delivery “driver”!

Fortunately most of us

understand the idea that if you want to respond or comment about a post in a thread, that’s where your comment goes.
