I always enjoyed taking part in the Tyne Tees Run, a really good do, nice friendly people and always made to feel welcome. Just by one of the officials saying “thank you for coming” made it worthwhile. The first time I did it, 1988 or '89, I’d booked a hotel for Saturday night in Stockton, and the late Fred Robinson rounded up about 10 participants staying in Stockton that night and we were taken to Fred’s house for food and drinks. Great memories.

Aye ging, a proper character was the late Fred, I particularly remember his tweed suits and brown brogues he was a huge presence in his time. Regards Kev.

Thanks for posting Kev , a unique place up at John Snowden’s not many places left like that now .

A pleasure Dan, Mr Snowdon is a man who takes a great pride in his motor. It is immaculate. Regards Kev.

No Alan not me , I was marshalling the artics that day, so I was wearing a hi-vis and pretending to direct traffic.  regards Kev.

That’s an interesting wagon.Put a tilt or curtainside body on it and make it drawbar capable, fit it with a nice new N14 motor and an 18 speed Fuller and then put it to work.

I’m sure Mr Gornall will be delighted with your retrospective approval CF. Apart from an engine transplant he transformed that motor from an 8 to a 6 wheeler, shortened the chassis, then added a drawbar trailer to the vehicle in the nineties. It improved the payload capacity from 21 to 26tons. It was new to his business in 1984.
