I am based in UK and have a job to spend 2 weeks (14 days) in my 10 tonne truck, with numerous pick-ups and drop offs in France on the way and then spending 2 weeks at a friends property in Spain.
So, i have not driven for two weeks, then i drive for 56 hours max for the first week (6 days), then take weekly rest, then drive for 34 hours the second week up to my 90 hour limit for the 2 weeks. This will be followed by a solid 2 week rest in a villa with use of a small car for running around.
My question is about the Weekly Rest on the above scenario, when i finish at 18.00 on Day 6, can i take 24 hours minimum weekly rest before completing the second weeks driving or do i need to take more?
I have a new Standard International Licence and will spend the weekly rest in a hotel as i’m told i cannot take a weekly break in my vehicle in France or Spain.
24 off between two lots of 6 days driving is fine
What may not be fine is using the time at your friends place as a regular weekly rest as the rules state that only a daily or reduced weekly rest can be taken away from base or home
EDIT - regular away from base/home ok if not taken in vehicle

No, a full weekly rest can be taken away from home (how would rock and roll tours work otherwise?), it just can’t be taken in the vehicle, according to some interpretations. Staying in a hotel, a friend’s house or even a tent would conform to the regulations.

You are spot on
I should have read the regs more carefully
