Scania 164 580 .
Oil in exhaust, seems to be before turbo on drivers side, but seems to be no oil on exhaust manifold on drivers side or other side .
Can oil leak down from Turbo as that is at higher point than where the two exhausts from engine meet and combine into one before Turbo.

Why would engine oil be in exhaust like this ? It’s not coming out at manifolds yet it’s in exhaust before turbo and after turbo ?

If it’s a Turbo problem what is problem, as I’m sure Turbo is working fine. Could it be a oil drain pipe blocked that returns oil to pan ?
Or it this a common problem and best to put a turbo on, or is it not Turbo at all ?

Turbo seals probably gone ,its oil fed for the bearings …so probably new turbo

Luckily we have it on good authority it can’t runaway.

Truck was down a month.
Driven last few days and all seems fine, I see no oil now whatsoever .

Maybe it just needed a run.

Can anyone tell me about a scania 420 or r420 . Is there such thing as a strong reliable 6 cylinder scania?
Is a 4 series 420 a reliable truck?
