Well at least the Unions are trying to do something about the disgrace that is the Reg10 Swedish Derogation clause within the AWR regulations :
WTD/Swedish derogation.
Big business will just find away around it all so they don’t have to pay the workers more money.
The rich get richer, the poor get poorer.
Same, same.
Well done to them for having a go, better than surrendering before the first shot has been fired.
Like them or not Unions for all their faults are the only people going to help working people stand up for and better themselves.
Just out of curiosity, how many of you are on active Swedish Derogation contracts?
I don’t disagree that they’re naff and a loophole to avoid AWR, but I believe I read the article claimed 1 in 6.
I can safely say that I have zero drivers on Swedish Derogation and in my old branch, only had four - all of which received payrises (albeit not to the same level as full time staff - blame DePoel!). Equates no where near to the 1/6 figure on personal experience.
