How many artics per acre can you comfortably park allowing driver access?
Ummm, I give up how many?
How big’s the driver?
surely a case of how wides the door
i did agency at B&Q Coventry
getting into the truck after hitching up was a struggle
this from a company Wincanton which preaches H&S
with the fervour of a Moslem radical
roughly around 24 maybe possible might manage depends on how comfartable u want it possibly more maybe less
but u would have to supply more details or ask how longs a piece of string

Not much more to supply. Assume 1 acre of uninterrupted level hard standing. Trucks parked in such a manner that any one can leave at any time.
In other words, like at a Truck stop.
Here is an acre in simpleton terms. I understood every word and i am a country lad.
An acre measures an area of land and is about 70 yards by 70 yards, which means about 4,900 square yards (or roughly 44,000 square feet).
A typical football pitch is about 110 yards by about 70 yards (the rules allow some flexibility in the size) so that a pitch covers about one and a half acres of field or, including the immediately surrounding land that goes with it, the football pitch takes up about 2 acres.
Another way to visualise one acre is as the area in which you could park about 150 cars. A typical supermarket, excluding the car park, covers about 0.6 of an acre (about 26,000 square feet).
1 acre = 4 046.85642 m2
I think an acre is 210 foot by 210 foot so if you keep lorries square you would need 60 foot for length and say 20 foot for wagons to get out that would be 2 lorries length wise but could tighten those measurements up for 3 possibly. Slightly bigger and you could get them back to back in the middle for four rows.
12 foot gaps possibly with 20 foot each end for getting round the park leaves 170 by 12 so thats 14 by 3 = 42.
Could maybe squeese a few more depending on parking angles and stuff.
Probably rubbish but gave it a shot.

Quite so Malcolm, only being a country lad myself, an acre is an acre or 43,560 sq. ft. or 2.471 rai if you happen to be in Thailand. … and it doesn’t have to be square.
Its not so easy to work out because not only do you have the vehicle’s footprint, but also door access opening room at the side, & room to manoeuvre in & out. (a lot more than 20’ needed i think aranger, but otherwise good input, thanks).
I know I was sitting here in my bedroom trying imagine how close another wagon would be before I was in bother but if you got them at an angle you would get three rows.
You wouldn`t get as many across though.
Farmer might not be far away with 24 maybe 30.
I know you want a definite answer so I will stop guessing.

of course you’d only have to allow enough space to open the drivers door so that would allow you to pack them in a bit closer
farmer:
or ask how longs a piece of string
simple - twice as long from the middle to the end
i’ll get my coat.
Never counted them when I used to park in Aldgate but that would be about an acre. I dont think that anybody anywhere could get as many parked as they did (of course only us old gits would remember that eh wheelnut)

I know which bit you read then, did you work out how many 10 wheel trucks he would need to raise the level of his paddy field by a metre?
Am I missing somethng here - but WHY was the question asked?
I heard you can only get 3.14159 trucks per acre.
I’d say 15 to 20, depending on how you line it out.
it also depends on who is visiting. if it says tesco on the unit, then you will only get 5, as they need a lot of room.
Why else would they need to park in an abnormal load bay?
Does anybody really give a ■■■■ how many trucks you can get in an acre?

Well for anyone who’s not business minded, i suppose that’s a given attitude.
What was that? Oh yeah, i remember now, could have sworn i heard some of you guys moaning on here there was a shortage of secure overnight parking, but never mind eh.
And that’s just all most of you will do about it, “moan” …nothing proactive.

Now we know the purpose of the original post - Secure Parking.
I guess it would depend on the dimensions of the acre - long and thin might be better than square?

No mention of parking on the post regarding parking. Just some dopey kid asking stupid questions and even more stupid people trying to work it out.
