Hi again, after much deliberation amongst our drivers over handrails round the Trucks we have been informed they are legal as they are a temporary fixture. Now then… These handrails are hinged on a bracket bolted to the side of the Truck, the bracket protrudes 2" from the side of the bed, they are hinged to this bracket to allow loading and unloading by FLT and remain in the raised position to prevent operators falling from the vehicle. They have to be removed in totallity for an MOT. What I’d like to know is, is there a minimum/maximum time that these temporary fixtures are allowed before they are classed as a permanent fixture and if so are they legal to use?
who installs them ?get them on the blower,or google vosa, and ask them!!!
