Hi Chris,
Rare to see a left ■■■■■■ 400.a total guess,Belgian? That fridge looks European too me.i remember seeing the armoric kw aerodyne around many times :sunglasses: .
Regards Andrew.

Hi Andrew, think I’ve answered my own question here, just found this one with similar plates & it’s Greek! Check out the roof-spoiler :open_mouth: , that’s the kiddy, just cut a chunk out of a 747s wing & bolt it to your roof, fantastic  , bet he got air miles when he tanked-up  .
Regards Chris

Adr mate,it took me a while but I suddenly recognised the Sed Atki 400 as being Greek,I’ve been a few times and is always good for old trucks.

One thing I noticed is that each Island has it’s own numbering system for number plates.

So I looked it up and wadda ya know I found this,it lists all the different letters for the different areas.

The Sed Atki is from Athens and the Merc is from Thessaloniki

any A ONE TRANSPORT photos on here with out looking at all the pages, thanks keith

I do remember Greek market 400s coming out of the Walton-le-Dale factory in the late 70s. I remember trying to catch one in the hands of a factory test driver too - on a local suburban road with a 40mph limit, I gave up at 70mph :unamused: My Triumph Herald was no match for a 335 ■■■■■■■■

Can anyone here remember parking around the square in Prato ■■ And was it Victors in Prato ■■

Yes to both Mikey1. The Station square was a roundabout and we used to park in two rows. One lot was parked tight to the roundabout and the other lot were parked at the kerb around the outside. There was a little bar in the corner of the square and IIRC, there was a river nearby. There was a lorry ban, which came later so that put a stop to us parking there.

Victor’s was a nice little eatery on the road from Prato to Florence. Victor was some kind of singer (opera I think) and there were pictures of Victor on the walls, which were taken when he met the Pope. Victor spoke very good English and the food was spot-on. I forget how many times I loaded at Euro Express opposite the large fruit stall on the same road. Not far from there was UGC, the scene of my first ever Italian reload. Happy days.

euro express were at calanzano the man there was roberto it was gondrand uk agent in that area i loaded out of there for years

Hi Gavin GS Thanks for your ppm. Your Scania is not the one I had in mind, it was a sort of candy apple red.I dont remember yours or Jimmy Ellis’s I remember the cafe you mentioned but we didn’t use it that often we normally went back to Matosinos. It’s funny because our paths must have crossed many times without us meeting. I used to sometimes load back from Graham ■■■■ in either Raymouth street or Silwood st. the other end of the road from Europeanfreightbus, was that the same road that you worked in? Graham became part of the Keedwell empire. I later became friendly with Jimmy Ellis when I worked for DT’s, ask him about the time his MAN froze up at the runways in Czech and he had to be rescued by a KW and a Foden, but I never knew he did Portugal

From the left John Bibby (Biggles)from Macclesfield - Me - R& G ,probably Steve Holland - Pat (Lucking ?) - Mervin Pierce (merve the swerve) Pat used to do R&R for Mike Keedweel (Euromat was going to look out some pics) Merve is still doing a bit of distibution for DT’s out of Avonmouth He’s about 70 now!

Me wih one of Aquilla’s better trailers.

Hi Gavin, looking at that Transcon in your photo, do you recall the name of the firm? It looks the same colour as the F88 that I posted a photo of in another thread where I’m trying to find details of the firm.

Nice to see the Mammoth International tilt in the background.I did not know, but was advised last week they were purchased back in the time by Ellerpack, for the permits and shut down straight away.

The Mammoth trading name was bought by Hoveringham for some reason I believe (related to the logo?), the permits I couldn’t tell you but it does ring a bell.
