Truckfest

NewLad:
It isn’t so much the seeing the crush a few cars, it’s the noise they make and the way they make your inside reverberate against your rib cage.
I guess you dont like any form of racing.

I’ll watch F1 if it’s on the BBC (I wont pay for Sky Sports), not normally a whole race. Will watch the start and then dip in and out until the end. Motorcycling holds no interest (never been into bikes). I just think with Truckfest, it’s the same “entertainment” every year. The local rallies to me are the same; Bloxham (Banbury) Rally has the same ye olde music hall bumph every year, they do the same “couple up all the old wreckers and pull them around the arena” trick. When these “entertainment” are going on I tend to use it as a good chance to look around the exhibits or visit the beer tent.

Just got back from Truckfest, to be honest it’s kind of changed my opinion on the frilly curtain brigade, if the gaffer is paying for the lights and rims then fair play to the drivers keeping them mint.

There were some absolute STUNNERS there today, saw an amazing Peterbuilt, which was chromed inside and out, with pin stripping on the radiator (inside the engine bay where no one would see without the hood open). Top quality job on that.

Monster Trucks were amazing as we’re the stunt bikes and bmx lads doing all manor of tricks.

For £30 for me the mrs and the 2 little ens (under, 5 just) it was an absolute bargain!

Yeh, yeh, never mind all that :unamused: … did you get Joey Essex’s autograph??

Who’s Joey Essex? Wouldn’t know him if he parked next to me in a Hino covered in bargain bin “accessories” from CDC.

Terry T:
Best truck for me was the J Davidson Terminator Volvo. Absolutely stunning inside and out. He had a brand new FH that he’d only just finished on display too, not even done a run yet.

I think I’d be embarrassed to drive a truck like that.

The paint scheme whilst well turned out, is just a bit…embarrassing

Well thats that done for another decade

Had a bloody good time all the Family from the smallest to the biggest really enjoyed ourselves, ought to make the effort to go more often, though I think I said that 10 years ago :unamused:

Showed My face at Trucknet(T & D) stand, great to meet you Ricky, now I can put a face to a name.

Bumped into a few former colleagues, good too have a catch up.

Best bit, just having a great day out with My Family, which is something We dont get the chance to do often. £56 + ice creams well spent

Theres a video on that J Davidson motor…

The white interior might look nice in some peoples eyes, but for a working truck what were they thinking? :open_mouth:

I can see theres a lot of effort been put in but its just not for me

Check this out for a sleeper cab:
