Truckfest wasn't the only Truckshow last weekend

Hi Folks!
Here are a few photos from the Portlaoise Charity Truck Show raising funds for the local Downs Syndrome and Autism Groups - fair play to the organisers and the truckers who turned up to support it.

For the DAF fans!

The Yellow Perils!

For the Scania fans

And not forgetting the Volvo fans

It looks alright in white fans

You wish - I do

I can’t believe this was 37 years old nearly as old as me

This is a Leyland Beaver with the LAD cab with an A frame drawbar trailer, no doubt somebody can date it!

Classic F88 - 290

I can’t believe I used to climb in to one of these and drive it.

The highlight of the show for me was being allowed to clamber around in these (The 143 and F16) and crank up the V8 - big thanks to the Kelly Brothers from Carlow

And finally somebody left this one hanging around  Sorry I missed you Matt aka ED

And only 10 yoyos a head to get in and kids were free

I notice the reg of it is NIP 476… is that the amount of NIP’s it’s amounted in its life? lol

Looks like it was a great day,
for a good cause and a fair price.

Maybe truckfest might learn a lesson,

It was nice to see the older wagon pics ,
bet it still can get up to 70mph
(whoops i meant if all Irish wagons didnt have limiters :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp:

Great pics Howatsi!!I was at the show myself and really enjoyed it…

Truck entries were free.Sponsorship cards were sent with the registration forms and most drivers collected over €100 each on the cards and willingly donated a contribution towards entry at the show !!!
One driver raised €800 :open_mouth:

The public were treated to demonstrations from the local fire service and a heavy recovery firm while some hauliers gave the children concerned a drive to the show…
One haulier surprised a young truck fan from my area by taking him to the show in their Kenworth show truck,a trip of appprox 120 miles

Helicopter rides were also available and local business’ donated spot prizes in raffles…

Looking forward to next year already!!!
