ProDrive latest update does not work with the new dartford crossing layout: it sends straight into the east tunnel from j1a instead of sending from j1a back to j1b and rejoining m25 for the east tunnel

Right, was using my Noza-crap in the truck around Southampton Monday and Tuesday, & I’ve lived there almost all my life, so I know the place well. I know the best routes around, and where there are likely to be truck restrictions. And my conclusion is that I don’t really know how the Noza-crap can call itself a truckers Sat-Nav! It was perfectly happy to send me on routes that I didn’t agree with, and would happily route me through 7.5 ton limits that have been in place for donkies, as if there were no alternative routes. So I spent most of those 2 days ignoring the silly ■■■■■, although when i did argue with her, she always managed to get the last word in!
But today, I had my new TomTom 6000 Truckers SatNav, and was doing the same area. The TomTom is far sexier and far more intelligent, as she knew of the existence of these restrictions, and routed my around them all without disagreement from me. So I hope you 2 (Priest & Ash) are happy with yours, and don’t have an Noza-crap problems!
Not used anything other than the “get me to this address” (Search) function, so don’t ask me any technical questions yet!
Are you still using this is it as good as they say, the original traffic must have run out did you pay for update.
I use the TomTom everyday and my yearly subscription for live traffic updates hasn’t yet run out, but when it does i will renew it, as i find it very useful and quite accurate. I’ve not used a Garmin so can’t comment on it.
As for the Noza-tech, it’s OK and just about does the job, but I think the TomTom is better, but even that will on occasion send you in on routes that aren’t the sensible option. So whatever you get, you can’t trust any of them blindly and you HAVE to keep your wits about you, especially when you are homing in on your destination!

Be very, very careful with TomTom’s traffic service. The latest units may be different, but on the 5150 at least, it will happily (and with no warning) give you an alternative route which ignores weight limits etc. Even worse, if you have chosen to avoid tolls it will treat that as an “alternative route” and will again happily ignore weight limits. In both cases, the first you will know about it will be when you are faced with the weight limit sign (or with the TomTom itself beeping at you to warn that you have just entered a weight limit…). I raised this as a support issue and they basically said “Yeah - we know it does that, sorry.”
The TomTom 6000 truckers will ask first if you want to take an alternative route, it won’t automatically reroute. As with all SatNav’s, treat them with caution and spec out the suggested route first. If you choose to take an alternative route, pull over and have a butchers before you drop yourself in the crap. As for toll’s, I have no issues with this and am constantly driving in and around a toll bridge that it never ever tries to send me over, as i have tolls turned off!
It’s not a question of it asking first (the 5150 does this - or you can set it to automatically re-route you). Actually a similar issue exists with toll roads - if a significant traffic delay appears on your (avoiding toll roads) route, it will cheerfully announce that there is a quicker route and ask you if you want to take it. What it does not tell you is that there is a toll road on this “quicker” route.
When I raised this with TomTom support they said they knew about it and had numerous reports from users. They also said that they could offer no workaround for it and could only apologise for the issues caused.
