Fair play to u Scotty! A couple of other things, obey the code but don’t become irate if others don’t, keep calm and smile sweetly!
And always listen and take advice from the experienced chaps! It’s up to you what you do with that advice but if you make out like you know it all they won’t help you when you really need it, if u catch my drift?
Good luck and enjoy!

Ah! Utopia then! Don’t want to sound negative but just listen, take your time and discard the rubbish that some will impart to you even if you don’t want it!
You’ll soon learn what’s right and what isn’t and realise that it’s a job just like any other with the odd bad day thrown in just to keep you focused!
Good luck and enjoy it as much as you can.

African Truck drivers code of conduct.
Find someone else to reverse or manoeuvre because you cannot
DO NOT Be courteous?
Always ensure you park near a Whorehouse
Fuel up your vehicle, nick half of it then run out of diesel in the bush, halfway to destination
Keep your vehicle very dirty
Do always drive an unroadworthy vehicle?
Flash in other drivers to meet you at the whorehouse
Keep to the top speed limit of that vehicle at all times
Set a bad example?
Always do vehicle checks i.e. make sure it is still there, if it is, drive it at speeds as above
Maintain a very bad enviroment?
Warn others behind you of difficulties ahead, by going into the fast lane to avoid it, without indicating
Be green? HUH what at 5MPG in a 1985 International
Put your foot down after causing said accident
Use an African grunt when asked where the hell are you by your transport division

I second that, it pays to do your own research, some drivers will tell you stuff that simply isnt the true, normally regarding hours, some boss’s will even try it on so watch out! If something doesnt feel or seem right it probably isnt.
have your own code of conduct, because that mythical truckers code of conduct is just that, a myth.
There is only one set of rules for road users and pedestrians, its the highway code. Flashing your lights has only one meaning, its the same as sounding your horn. To make another road user or pedestrian aware of your presence.
