Far too many to list here.
My last stupid fast bike was a ZXR750H1, but it was unreliable.
Had all things from Honda 400/4 to Yamaha XTZ750.

Currently own:
1963 Honda CB72 - Old but fun for a quick blast
1974 Ducati 250 - Not so old but rather quick
1981 Yamaha XT500 - Gets me to work and allows some playtime
1974 Suzuki TS250 - Kept in a collection of boxes, waiting for a rebuild
Paul

I had the same ts250 , chopped it in for kh250, kh400 then went back to a sp370 , Christ must be nearly 38 yrs ago , had a ap50 before the t&s 250 , was there a age limit , I can remeber riding the ts250 on waste ground at back of house when dad was away when it wasn’t legal , just can’t rember , but was fun , post a pick up when you finish it if possible , ta

Love the “kettle” Dr D. Had one of them when I was 16 but as my Dad was a cop I had to leave it in a mates garage!

Had bikes since 16; started on a Puch 3-speed moped which cost me thirty quid, not one of the snazzier yellow ones but the “grandad” type with deep valanced mudguards.

Went through most of the usual lightweight 1970’s/80’s stuff, mostly Hondas cos for all that they were slow they were reliable too and that counted when you were in the Army and had to get back from leave on time. The odd bit of exotica too like a Kawasaki 750 triple which I sold on after about three weeks before it either bankrupted me (15mpg when thrashed) or killed me!

Bought my first Harley in 1989, a 1975 Ironhead Sportster and up till about two years ago had virtually no other brand, apart from a few lightweight commuter bikes. Current stable comprises a 1979 Electraglide, 1972 Ironhead Sportster (pics of both in car thread) plus this, a 1942 WLC sidevalve…

…now you know where the screen handle comes from! I’ve been all over the UK on that old heap, plus several trips to Holland and Belgium; that pic was taken in Bruges last year. It’s never completely let me down, had problems yes but it’s so simple and rugged that anything’s fixable, and believe it or not I can still get virtually any part for it either NOS or repro. 3 speed hand change, foot clutch; will do 75mph flat out but you REALLY don’t want to go there, it’s scary and you can see how big the brakes are! It will however plod along quite happily at 55-60mph all day every day.

Finally, making up the stable (I can use that word cos that’s exactly where they live!) as well as my R100RS BMW which is also pictured in the car thread, is my other BMW, an R80RT which is my all-weather push-button-and-go workhorse, and a recently acquired Honda CB350K4 which requires light restoration and is ideal for VMCC runs and local pottering.

Ha I was the opposite. I wanted one when I was young but could never afford one. Bought that one years later and it scared the life out of me after modern machinery.
Brakes were crap, handling was holding on tight and saying a prayer including a few tank slappers. Probably my own fault for trying to ride it like a modern bike.
Got rid of it before it got rid of me!

XJR1300 is my 2 wheeled truck.

Sold my Kawasaki zx9r couple years ago due to a nagging wife saying I’m too old at 50 racing about, I still missing it.
SHOULD HAVE SOLD THE WIFE INSTEAD. No she doesn’t read trucknet! Think I’m safe

Passed my bike test in 1965 and still riding nearly every day for work and ride outs . Haven’t always had a bike but most of the time.

All time favourite Yamaha XJR1300 owned for six years and 60000 + miles and two trips to the south of France.

Current bike Honda Deauville nt 700 owned for about eight years, trips to Paris, Belgium and Germany and used every day for work. I’d sell it but I can’t find anything that will do what I use it for so well and I would get peanuts for it if I part ex’ed it.

Nice photos Knight2 brings back memories of some of my European trips.

VT1000. Only had it 6 months previously had a 1200 bandit. Not had chance to ride it much but planning another trip abroad next year, maybe Austria

No mate it’s the later one, although the way my mate rides cough :unamused: we’re still stopping every hundred miles to fill up

I use my sports bike to commute. Its been de badged but I think it’s an R1. It’s the shizznizzle.

Dr Damon:
Some nice bikes been posted. I do have a soft spot for older machines although when you ride them now it makes you realise how everything has come on.
ie brakes tyres and handling and performance!

Another 3 of my X road bikes.

Love the Kettle, I had a Suzuki 250 Ram air in 77 and bought a 750 kettle in 1980 , wished I had kept it now. Worth a few bob.

I also had an RE5 that I let slip through my fingers too. Absolute mint it was, wonder what that would fetch now?

All the retro models are bringing good money now. I had a Yamaha fizzy when I was 16, they are bringing 4k and above. Mate of mine bought an old Kwaka 250 tripple a few months ago to restore, it is a shed and he paid 3k for that. He will need to put the same in again to restore it but they hold their price so not a bad investment.

Yep they fetch good money now.Wish I still had mine in a way! I had a 550 ram air only because I could not afford the 750.

But give me an RG 500 or a TZ. Now they are special.

Ah the rotary engined Suzy. Always wanted a go on one but never got the chance. Very smooth engine so I believe. Worth a fortune now.

Rhonda the Honda gets me around. Riding everywhere 1/8th throttle at the moment after getting very lucky the other day and getting let off with a warning for a bit of speeding.

Nice bike. Trouble is, they beg to be ridden “in a spirited fashion” as the old codgers put it and that’s not good for job prospects in our trade. I once took a friend’s ZXR 750 out and it was no fun unless you were riding it illegally. Hence I stick to my old clonkers, can scare meself well enough without ever risking a speeding ticket!
