Truck & Driver Actros Competition

Does anybody know who won the truck and driver Merc Actros competition in truck and driver earlier this year (the one that was at truckfest)?

Has anybody seen it on the roads? I haven’t seen it and never heard anyone mention it. Is it still in the truck and driver livery or been re-done?

i can’t remember the winners name, but i have seen the truck on the road a couple of times

the winner was announced in T&D

Imagine the shame, everybody knowing you entered a competition to drive a Merc, would you advertise it?
Simon :sunglasses:

Anythings better than a Premium

Even though it pains me to say it the actros’ i have driven have been a good drive. not quite an ovlov or DAF but better than MAN, Scania’s and iveco’s.

very comfy with lots of room and no cheap plastic bits falling off or fuses blowing every ten minutes and warnings on the dash like blackpool illuminations everytime you go over a bump!

and like rob said its was free for 12 months, you cant knock that!!! I’m not tight I’m careful!

Got to say the P series Im driving now is a nice machine, but I’d even drive a Renvo rather than the Haxor we’ve got!
Simon :sunglasses:

the p series is rubbish, nto even enoughr oom in it to swing a cat and its blooming gutless aswell.
i would happily have drove that merc.

I’ve seen the T&D Actros on the road, was quite attractive & stood out from the crowd  :sunglasses:

IIRC, that was part of the prize deal, you had to leave it in that livery for the 12 month period that you had the truck

Have a look at my Avator ,have to disagree about the Actros especially the MP2,a great truck

The operator who won the truck is one Tim Cooper, who runs TJ Cooper Transport, Dronfield, Derbyshire. The driver’s a happy bunny (so Tim tells me). T&D (in the shape of moi) will be calling on TJ Cooper to snap the vehicle and get an update on its operational progress. Expect to see it in the mag next year - maybe March or April.
