Tri Star Transport, Leeds

Does anyone remember this firm? during the late 70’s, the father of one of my school friends ran this firm. it was a small company, but the trucks were immaculate, a couple of scania 111’s, a scania 81, for uk work, and at least one Transcontinental.
The trucks were white with red signwriting and striping, all were trimmed up with all the usual goodies from that era.
The scania 81 actually stood on scania’s stand at the Earls court truck show whatever year I’m thinking of, 78 0r 79 ■■?
One of the lads i work with now, used to work for a small bradford haulier, and he told me that he used to drive , the ex Tri Star ford transcontinental, which had been bought second hand, WWT909S, was the reg, it was then sold on again to an owner driver from Pudsey, who worked for pandora, out of Yeadon.
would appreciate any info, on what happened to Tri-Star.
Thanks

Got talking to an old driver in Drighlington last week, who said he remembered Tri-Star, he said they did a lot of Scandinavian work, was wondering if any of the A1 Transport lads remember them ?

Hi Jerry, I recall “Tri Star” shipping out on the love boat quite often in the 70s sorry no pictures though

i worked for tri star,it was my first continental job,i was 23 at the time now i am 57,what an outfit that was,i did drive that ford what a motor went like a rocket it was on lease from tate’s of leeds, barry wilkinson was the owner.
the tale’s i could tell about that firm, what a good time i had there and a laugh a minute.
sadly he went bust big style.

My dad worked for Barry, he had one of the 111s got a photo of my dad and 111 in Holland

Ey up who was your dad??
