Transport Manager on an expenses only basis?

Hello

I passed my CPC exams this year, though I don’t use the qualification.

I’m happy with my current employment and was wondering about the feasibility of offering my novice services on an expenses only basis so that I can accrue something on my CV for future use.

Anyone tried this before?

Firstly, why would you want to take on the obligations of a TM and risk your professional repute for nothing? Having something on your CV for future use isn’t much of a reason.

Secondly, the TC will be expecting you to charge at least the minimum wage ( £6.70 x 8 x 52 ÷ 12 = £232.67 per month) if you are doing the job properly.

Could you not talk to your company and ask if you can spend a bit of time in the transport office, maybe to cover holidays. I did a bit of this for a company I worked for, proper eye opener seeing it from the office side.
