Full size,18 speed R/Rangers,concrete blocks on trailer to simulate weights as well as a few schools have the sleepers converted to seating for 3 students in the rear.
There used to be a school that used a Ford F150 Pick up “Truck” with a small trailer attached as their semi training truck.Thankfully those days are over.
Now if you do your licence exam in a synchro truck your licence is only valid for synchro boxes.
Got the sites if you want to see the truck setups.
Andy, when I took my test in the States it was in a regular Frieghtliner Century Class with a full size 53ft box trailer. My training involed 1 week in the classroom, 1 week on reversing etc and then 1 week on the road with the test on the last day.
Same truck as Bully but all I got was two hours to try it and that was my first time ever in a US truck, the two hours included the test. I passed though. Cost of truck rental fro the two hours ;- $20, this was refunded the day i started working for them
