Trailer Marker lights out

Just wondering if any has had a similar problem and possibly a solution.
Driver collected a trailer today and the marker lights are out down both sides but taillights and top markers are working , i think its a fuse on the unit but he is adamant its not , so will be checking it myself in morning so was just wondering if any has any ideas what else it could be ■■

Its not the electrical susies , he tried a different set , but we used to get this all the time in past when using different trailers thats why i still think its a fuse

not a fuse, if it was, there would be no tail lights either

one fuse will do one side and the tail for the same side, unit and trailer

Any ideas what it could be then , the other reason i thought must be a fuse was driver had a different trailer this morning and had just one sides markers working but as it was light didnt bother investigating

Hi, i drive a magnum 59 plate and when hooked up to either of our 2 new tanks with LED’s all round the lights down side dont come on but the rear lights work, doesnt blow fuses they just dont come on…but hook the volvo 59 plates up to them and they all work ■■?
Soon as i couple up to the tanks with ordinary bulbs down the sides they all work…puzzling!

Side marker lamps are wired from the socket end pin 2 black wire will be one side, and pin 6 brown wire the other side.

The side markers are usually wired in series if there is a broken wire all one side will be out.

Yes very puzzling indeed , god knows will have to get someone out to it by sounds of it .
Just seems strange that he had an issue on another trailer as well .
Thanks guys :frowning:

Had that problem last year, replaced a light and the lot worked fine. Perhaps they should wire them in parallell then at least some will work.

Today I had a trailer with triple LED rear lights. When using the indicators the trailer warning lights on the dash did not light up. Got back to yard dropped trailer, hooked plug into older trailer everything worked fine.

exactly what this bloke said^^^^. alough common sence would lead you to the first marker light try going from back forward. reason bein ive had more often than not trailers wired from back to front when repairing the same faults. hth

Sounds very like a fuse to me, as trailer manufacturers each have their own way of using the two separate circuits to the trailer, some wire one circuit to one side, others criss cross to alternate markers on each side so that if one circuit goes down the trailer is not totally invisible, could be on your trailer the rears and side markers are on separate circuits, must be worth a check of the fuses before calling someone out.

I’ve been caught by this with a trailer at Whitbreads - It had its own fuse panel at the back under the number plate holder :frowning: One and only time i’ve seen this.
