Height markers in cabs don’t work. They don’t actually stop bridge strikes. We need a more robust and efficient method of informing drivers that their day is about to turn to crap.
Some sort of a loudspeaker yelling ‘stop the ■■■■■■■ lorry you moron and go another way’ might work.

I think you’ll find we were discussing the legalities of passing certain signs, rather than actually hitting anything. A professional driver would understand the difference

Not many professional drivers would be discussing trailer heights mate that’s what I meant. The bonus part was the legalities, Likewise, a professional driver would understand about trailer heights to begin with.

What is totally unacceptable is that it should be mandatory that trailer heights are shown in feet and inches on the headboard of the trailer.
I always get caught out with flat trailers, never seems to be on them

Some sat navs have this feature. You would need to manually enter the height of your vehicle for this to work, but would be interested to know if it gets used and if it gives you plenty of warning?
