TP on the front of Portuguese motors

As the title suggest what does this mean. Was having a beer with mat earlier and we were discussing this, I think it means transport portugal but not to sure. Can anyone enlighten us.

the TP letter means in portuguese Transportes Privados how in english means private company…so all the truck how have that plate belongs a private company Wink
Taken from another area of the web

Im looking forward to Tobys answer to this!

Im sure it will be long and rambling, incorporating the beaches of Portugal, red tango beer, the local old bill, his bike and a sea water swimming pool!!

More or less,it means that truck can transport someone else goods, basically it’s registered with a haulage company,if it’s to transport your own goods you don’t need that licence,so you don’t have the sticker!!
I’ve seen many spanish fridges with a SP sticker,i suppose it means the same thing, but not sure!!
