Just as winter has arrived the central heating system is drained and shut down.Not because of a sarcastic eco ■■■■■■■■■ although that’s a bonus, but because the pump decided to call it a day and the ‘isolation’ valves proved unfit for purpose.So thought zb it might as well upgrade the rads to double panels and do some decorating while they are off the wall.All TRVs are being replaced with manual valves as part of the refusal of loft insulation and cavity wall insulation to spite the global warmists.
So totally reliant on a couple of electric fan heaters and the immersion heater for now to face the worst that winter can chuck my way.

That means malnutrition or hyperthermia slow death for those on low incomes right now.
Some might be able to keep warm by being at work all day, and coming home to a stone-cold house.
Those with families though? - will feel obliged to keep the heating off until all family members are present, to make some kind of efficient use of what short bursts of heating on for 15 minutes per day - might bring…
Inflation - also means that poorer people have to manage on less food, or rather less of the better, more nutritious food, compared to cheap crud that might fill you up, but will turn you into some kind of couch potato in short order, putting even MORE pressure upon the NHS - Right?
The Best “Reform” we can have - is to kick the entire Parliament out, for forcing upon us all the WRONG priorities.
