Tottng up the sums

Could any one give me a pointer or two when doing figures on running costs. I am thinking of contract hire of a 2013 Actros. should I be using 8 or 9 mpg when working out fuel costs? and on average, how much do drivers pay for fuel when having use of fuel cards? I know average pump price but do fuel cards generally mean a saving at all on that pump price. When you’ve paid your TAX on everything, i.e… truck hire, op yard parking, tyres and fuel and file your return, what kind of percentage might you get back?
cheers all.

if you get money back when you submit your vat return then you wont be making much of a living

after I,ve done the sums for the 3 month quarter I usually end up giving the vat man about £3000
