For those that new Robin at the Total ZB he commited suicide on thursday 8/7/21 due to stress
I’m shocked.
Such a gentle man, known him for 20 years.
Spent so many weekends there over the years and he always had time to talk to the British drivers.
RIP my old friend.

That’s saddening
I didn’t know him well. Although I used to ship in and out of Zeebrugge quite frequently, I’ve never spent much time in there, usually in for fuel and away again.
On one occasion he saved me a lot of time. I got pulled for a routine check at the layby by the prison in Brugge on Monday the 1st of May. Unfortunately my Euro-authorisation finished on the 30th of April and the new ones were still on the bosses desk. A hefty fine, but I had a great deal of trouble paying it, it was a bank holiday. Robin agreed to accept my card even though the fine was way over a normal card limit, and handed over the cash so I could pay the fine and get on my way.
I knew the whole family quite well, was Dianne his sister? I went to Frans funeral many years ago, Stefan was always helpful to us and Doris kept the place clean and made a lovely breakfast on a gas bottle
Willy wound a few people up but you could see him doing it, it was sport to him, a very intelligent bloke.
RIP Robin

Yes Dianne is his sister, depends what mood she’s in, nice woman but can be a bit po faced if she’s in a mood, complete opposite to Robin who was always jovial.
For as long as I can remember Coffee was always on and free for drivers until recent years when they installed a coffee machine that was 2Euros a cup, Stephanie used to hand tokens out to the Brits so we didn’t pay but then the Eastern European’s didn’t want the coffee they were more interested in the bottles of Vodka.
It’s extremely sad about Robin, he was a genuine fella and a sad loss.
