Rich2012:
Would this satisfy the working time directive
2hrs drive
2hrs other work
1hr drive
30 min break
1hrs other work
1hr drive
YES
No more than 6 hours have been worked without a 15 min break
The total amount of break needed for a 7 hour working time shift is 30 mins so that is also covered
I was never sure if it mattered if you took the whole 30mins in one go or had to take the 2nd 15mins between 6 to 9 hours

No such rule exists
If less than 4.5 hours driving in a 15 hour shift then this is legal
work/drive 6 hours
15 min break
work/drive 6 hours
15 min break
work/drive 2 hours
15 min break
work/drive 15 mins

I would get an infringement if I followed the above as we must take 30 mins in total (can be 2x 15 mins) if working between 6 and 9 hours. So, 6 hours of drive/work 15 mins break and then another 15 mins before 9hrs of total drive/work time.

That might an internal company one but certainly not a legal one

The gov web site seems to think its a legal requirement (in the PDF linked on page) assuming we’re talking about the same thing.
gov.uk/government/publicati … rking-time
…where it says:
After working for 6 hours a mobile worker must take a break of at least 15 minutes.
However, if working more than 6 and up to 9 hours in a shift a mobile worker needs to take a break totalling at least 30 minutes - this could be two breaks of 15 minutes.
Where a shift will contain more than 9 hours of working time, a total of 45 minutes of break is needed.
Its in the tiny writing under table A as section 4.
You are reading it incorrectly
My example is 100% correct
Someone needsto inform Tachomaster, and pretty much every other analysis software out there as they all say the same thing and give the same infringements…which is basically all “compliance manages” ever look at.
Or just scrap WTD, even better.

I would like to see an infringement for doing it legally
