Top Gear and the RHA

How about from the bride with the wedding cake? That would be far worse!!
[/quote]

… it doesn’t bear thinking about… I am coming out in a cold sweat. Luckily none of my drivers (touch wood) have done anything like that to me yet !

If any of my drivers are reading this then please don’t !

For those minority that are offended by Mr Clarksons comments you can take out your frustration

The RHA are merely contributing to the namby-pamby,tree-hugging pc state
that costs us more and more each day.

This was an easy target, wasn’t it RHA?

You won’t be going home on Friday thinking " i’ve helped the transport industry
this week" will you?

Get busy with the challenging tasks instead. Thank you.

Well said mate :exclamation: :exclamation: :exclamation:

As a person that works on a driving agency, all i could picture was the telephone call that i would recieve from the transport manager shortly after “The Hamster” jettisoned the car out the back of his trailer !

Terrifying thought …

How about from the bride with the wedding cake? That would be far worse!!

I would have loved them all to do a “well boss” phone call when they got in.

CLARKSON -“Well Boss the trailer is running a bit warm”

people say worse things about us and they MEAN it.Its not one of his best but there are more enemys of the truckers than J.C.

Since when have the RHA represented Lorry drivers they represent the Haulage companies I represent me

I didn’t hear any complaints from the RHA, FTA or URTU about this one, or maybe they don’t read Viz.

did you see top gear this sunday, it was funny, clarkson said oh first of all i have to say sorry for last week, theres been alot of complaints on internet forums and that… well im sorry… so here is the track time for the car

haha, i thought it was going to be about the lorry driver thing, and i think thats what it was aimed at. made me smile tho.

couple of people moaned about it on points of view

Are we really turning into a nation of people with no sense of humour ■■? Over-reaction is a word that springs to mind - just ask jonathan ross or russell brand what they think - they made a joke out of a woman who gets her norks out for anyone - morality my arse :smiling_imp:

Found this on the BBC complaints website:

It’s great to see the BBC actually sticking up for themselves for a change and not bowing to a minority of people who will complain about everything and ruin it for the rest of us.

Im pleased to read that too but was slightly shocked to find out that the BBC do not take what Jeremy says at all seriously :stuck_out_tongue:

Jeremy Clarkson and Neil Hobbs could make a brilliant truckers programme about urban myths

Well i sat down and watched this in macon with 4 other drivers and we all had a good laugh over the light harted dig at drivers it was not ment to offend us and the lads i was with enjoyed it as well and it was different well done top gear give us more just steady on with the murdering talk i think you upset some one lol

I think Jeremy Clarkson’s comments were unkind to prostitutes.
If they all got murdered, there would be a shortage.
Re-use is much better ! Hasn’t JC heard of recycling?
Save prostitutes for another day.

I liked the programme & found it very funny.

What is wrong with this country have people forgotten that the TV & RADIO for that matter have an OFF button.

Havent people learnt yet that TOP GEAR is full of daft stunts & silly comments.

Bring it on top gear give us more…

OK RANT OVER

I wonder how many of the people posting pro-Clarkson comments would be quite so supportive if they had been said by someone who is not as publicly pro-roads and pro-motorists.

For example, what if Boris Johnson (once he’s no longer Mayor, of course) had made a similar comment on Have I Got News For You?

Also, for everyone that’s saying about the TV having an “off” button: We pay JC’s wages (via the TV license). Therefore, shouldn’t everybody be entitled to their opinion on where the money is spent?

Just being Devil’s Advocate…
