The results speak for themselves don’t they.
wish people would put their time and effort into
complaining about some real problem!
Best laugh i’ve had in a while,i tell ya
I vote no
the rha represents haulage companies not drivers (I think so but may be wrong)
so why even bother with the letter does not make sence

The RHA only represent themselves

Whilst it was funny, I would have prefered to have seen shown us in a better light. We have enough to contend with on the roads and the lack of facilities, it does show just how difficult it can be. It does take skill to get around in a truck, and we are also hated by most car drivers, so why couldn’t they have shown us in a better light. We don’t all murder prostitues from Ipswich !!!
He was a forklift driver at taylor barnards RR
I don’t take even the slightest exception to Clarksons comments. It is simply part of his normal wit and humour. The insults he throws at bikers, Volvo drivers and various motor manufacturers are far far worse than that.
Truth to tell, we all make comments similar to that on a daily basis. The blonde jokes we all seem to love are much worse. Just ask my wife, who just happens to be blonde! So why take offence when JC makes a joke. Agreed, saying something that may offend the families of the murdered girls is not to be condoned, but it should, nevertheless, be taken as it was intended.
To be honest, the press coverage of it is much more offensive to my mind, and the RHA… least said, soonest mended.
i haven’t seen the episode yet but i find his comments deeply offensive.
There can’t be many people that didn’t get the link between lorry drivers, killing prostitutes and the yorkshire ripper.
The reason i’m so disgusted with what he said is Not because i’m a lorryist but because sutcliffe didn’t just murder prossies he also killed because women where in the wrong place at the wrong time. Nobody deserves to die in that way.
As a husband, son, dad, brother, uncle and nephew i’m shocked that in a mainstream entertainment show clarkson can use cheap shock jock tactics to get publicity for top gear, world tour and the usual christmas dvd that’s in the shops now.
i voted no.the show was hilarious and clarkson and co were on top form as usual.whats the matter with some people, they must have too much time on their hands.ive just been on the bbc website and sent feedback on the show.all positive
finally i’ve seen it and it was even funnier than the caravan episode! But i found the murder comments offensive and totally unfunny.
The RHA are merely contributing to the namby-pamby,tree-hugging pc state
that costs us more and more each day.
This was an easy target, wasn’t it RHA?
You won’t be going home on Friday thinking " i’ve helped the transport industry
this week" will you?
Get busy with the challenging tasks instead. Thank you.

Whats the best thing about being an Interstate(Long Distance) truckie?Only 2 more sleeps till Christmas!!!
haha i liked that one i didn’t take offence at it at all god people who do need to remove the 10ft pole from there arss
I voted no, I didn’t see the program but from what I’ve heard it was just Jeremy Clarkson doing what he does best, making good television.
ha ha ha. I think its soooo funny that 11% of people on here so far were ‘offended’. ha ha ha grow up and get a life

I’ve got a life thankyou, unlike several women around the country
Hang on a sec, a TV presenters family was murdered down south last week and all the news is full of is that or the election. Does anyone on here care about that? No, because it doesn’t affect anyone on here.
All the wisecracks about HATOs or VOSA, all the jibes about car drivers, all the silly and funny gags that are made on here. The jokes about phoning the suicide crisis centre and being put through to Pakistan, which many on here will have received recently on text.
But Clarkson is vilified for making one wisecrack about a recent news story. It was the press that pointed out the murderer was a former truck driver. Have a go at them.
Clarkson made a comment which offended a small number of people. I bet I could offend many more than he has, and with less effort. Most of us could. If anyone seriously thinks that jibe can harm our image then they are being paranoid and self deluded. Too many delusions of grandeur, perhaps. What he said will not do any damage to our image. We are too responsible for the damage ourselves.

That’s another point, it wasn’t a crack about a recent news story. Clarkson was simply repeating something that has been around for years and was a regular feature in VIZ for a while. People assumed it was about the Ipswich murders but they came long after this thing started. I can remember posts, jokes and discussions on this site about it when someone would post asking why people were taking the ■■■■ when they heard they were a driver by asking how many prostitues they had killed today. They hadn’t seen or heard of the stuff in VIZ so didn’t get the reference. Those posts predated the Ipswich killings by a long time.
Is it getting to the stage where no jokes can be made in case something related to the joke happens in the future?
If people don’t like something they can switch off, change channel or ignore it yet there is a poster on here who asked in the feedback forum how he could prevent a post appearing in the recent posts list, most likely because it offended him. He then appears to have posted on the thread I presume he wanted to avoid, this ensuring it made a reappearance in the recent posts list. Seems people just like having something to complain about, but then again we are drivers and that is our favourite thing.

For the information that was ME
All I was asking was if there was a way to block threads i was not interested in
and that was what i was asking CAN I SWITCH OF PARTICULAR THREADS
if the rha are so botherered about us drivers why dont they complain to the gov and get us better truckstops with FREE PARKING,or is this just another pr stunt from a suit and tie in an office■■? why are they not getting our industry together to fight the gov for fair treatment on road taxes and diesel■■? they cant do that it would upset the apple cart so they jump on this stupid remark clarkson said to make themselves look good,i say get real concern yourselves with the industry not tv,
The Phrase “no PR is bad PR” springs to mind !
So far none of my drivers have found the programme anything other than funny. The protest over the Murdering Prostitutes comment smacks of the same hysteria surrounding the Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross affair.
As a person that works on a driving agency, all i could picture was the telephone call that i would recieve from the transport manager shortly after “The Hamster” jettisoned the car out the back of his trailer !
Terrifying thought …

How about from the bride with the wedding cake? That would be far worse!!
